Hi, If youre interested in a single/elder/female SCAM story, call/text me. My name is ******************************************************** I live in *******************, East *******.Long story short I just paid to get my basement encapsulated. They did a bait and switch on the job. They did not bring or use the materials and equipment they sold me.This was so brazenly blatantly done that I am completely dumbfounded that someone would try to lie right to my face about a project I paid for. Maybe they thought I wouldnt notice these details OR SPEAK UP ABOUT IT AFTER BEING SCAMMED. Its beyond embarrassing to be taking advantage of.This is NOT about the money I paid, that is another story. This is about a company that is illegally representing themselves and what they do.This is about EVERY client they deceived before me!! I cant even imagine how many people they duped doing the same scam with no recourse. They need to be held accountable for my job and ALL the prior work done before me. Somehow all their clients need to be notified about this fraudulent activity by Aladdin Home Solutions, Inc. Waterproofing company. They are supposed to come back to my house on Tuesday February 14th at 11 am for a final walkthrough and payment. Please let me know if you can come bear witness to a real time fraudulent scam. I have already contacted the police and asked if they can come. I am waiting to hear back.Thank you for your time. I would appreciate any help/leads you could provide.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/31/2023

I apologize for the late response. Apparently the email from the BBB was in our spam folder.  I have attached a copy of an email to *********************** date February 21.
*********************** is significantly misrepresenting the facts. The email and the corresponding thread showing her erratic behavior clearly shows her intent is to get out of paying for the work and for the equipment we installed in her home.   Ironically, her complaint to the BBB predates our inspection.
You will see that we made every effort to accommodate this customer (including showing up in the middle of the day with a crew [which she had no intention of allowing to enter her crawl space] and listening to her yell, curse, and scream at us. Clearly, based on her behavior AND her now revealed pre-emptive complaint to the BBB, she never had any intention of allowing us to perform a walk through and collect payment.

To be clear: She is in breach of contract. She refused to pay us the of the contract: $4,500.00 . I've attached a copy of the signed contract.

When she refused payment to the installation crew , I finally was able to get her to call me back the next evening and she requested that we come out on February, 14th and bring a crew. It was our understanding that she wanted us to perform touchups and receive our final payment. Instead, we were subjected to yelling, screaming, baseless accusations and a refusal to show us the alleged issueswith the encapsulation installation. I repeatedly asked for us to go inside the crawlspace to inspect and address her complaints. She refused. Clearly, she had no intention of paying us, and only wanted to cost us more production time by having a crew sit there idle, To be clear, at the time of our inspection on February 14th, wehad no idea what was really going on: She was trying to avoid paying for the work and equipment.

After an hour of listening to her berate us and refusal to show us the crawlspace, she then said she wanted us to come back in another week to inspect and  would not pay us UNLESS we tore out the entire project and reinstalled it. I refused to entertain any more of this nonsense and got up to leave. She then threatened to call the police, chased us down the driveway yelling and screaming Multiple says of rant emails from her followed. Its clear her tactic was to bully us into letting her have our equipment and services for free,

The fact that she already contacted the BBB requesting a refund (ironically she hasnt paid us yet) shows her intention was to breach her contract and cheat us out of the money she owes us.  Currently, this has been labeled in our system as Theft of Services and we fully intend to prosecute and place a lien on the property.

To be clear, we installed the products as per the contract and have yet to be compensated. We have photographs that our ******* took prior to her refusing to pay him and demanding that he leave her property the minute he finished his 1.5 hour inspection/walk through with her. I have attached those photographs to the portal as well.
During our conversation with her, she texted me two tiny photographs of pinched tape and said that was evidence enough of an inproper job. I will point out that she also presented me a roll of our encapsulation tape that our ******* had left behind. I wouldnt put it past her to have place this tape on our finished product just to try to cheat us out of the money she owes.

Regarding any touch-**** they fall under the warranty that comes with the job (once it is paid in full). That warranty includes a Life-time of the structure warranty on the encapsulation. Any imagined issues she has manufactured in her head would be covered by the warranty.  For the record: Her claim that creased tape is NOT a valid warranty issue or justification for tearing out the job.

*********************** shows a tendency to manufacture fasle statements.  At no point did she ask for our business license, insurance information, etc UNTIL our visit on the 14th of February when she demanded that we come back a week later with those documents ( when she expected us to completely tear out and reinstall the entire project). The next day her email pretended that she had been requesting it for days A few days later she made up stories about alleged damage to her plumbing. Although this had never been brought up before. She also notified us that she was attempting to stop payment on her initial deposit! She then sent us notice preventing us from coming onto her property.

She was contracted for installation of crawl space encapsulation. It was performed. She paid for an AlorAire dehumidifier. It was installed. She refused to pay the remaining 50%: $4,500 balance.

In short, we value our relationship with the BBB. As *** repeatedly told ************************, once we have received payment in full ( via money order or cashiers check)l, we are happy to address and covered warranty issues.

    Best Regards,

    *****************
