I went to the business for an oil change on 12/26/24. The clips were not reinstalled on the underneath engine carriage. I was traveling out of town after the oil change when I heard an odd scraping noise coming from underneath my vehicle. Luckily I was near a ****** dealership in ************** where I stopped to discover that all of the clips to hold the undercarriage in place were missing.I have attempted to get in touch with the franchisee and have not been successful in receiving a response.Initial Complaint

On Sunday, September 29th around 3:30p.m. I went to Take 5 for an oil change on my *** 430i. They started working on my car and the technician starts saying how much he dislikes ***'s and expressing his frustration with trying to get the oil filter out of my car. I believe I sat there for almost 30 minutes before they said they, 'finished' working on my car. I paid $164.78. The technician then asks me to turn my car on and immediately my engine started rattling. He comes over to me and says that I need to get that checked out to which I replied, no, my car has never rattled like that before. He dismisses what I say and sends me on my way. I drove 1 mile down the road and the 'low oil pressure' light comes on and I immediately pull over. A passerby stops to help me figure out what's going on and we quickly find out they didn't put any oil back into my car. I call Take 5 back to tell them what's going on and again they dismiss what I say and say that they simply forgot to reset my oil light. About 20 minutes later (approx. 4:20pm), whom I assume was the manager, calls me back and says, 'It has been brought to my attention that we forgot to put oil in your car.' and they send over someone from the shop to my location in their personal vehicle, I was pulled over in a neighborhood next to their shop, and he fills my engine with oil. At this point my check engine light has turned on. So, I took it to the *** dealership and they informed me that my engine is shot and will need to be completely replaced. They also informed me that it will be $20,000 to replace my engine. This has been a nightmare I cannot wake up from, I just purchased this car a couple months ago and trusted that these 'technicians' knew what they were doing, being that their shop literally ONLY does oil changes. I've attached my receipt from my supposed 'service' and the report from *** dealership. I refuse to pay for the negligence of your employees and I will take legal action if this is not paid for.Business Response

Hello Ms. *************** am sorry about your experience with Take 5 Oil Change. This shop in question is a Franchised location meaning it is privately owned. This matter will have to be handled through that ownership team. I have asked that BBB transfer this complaint over to them. I hope that they can come to a resolution with you regarding your claim.
Thank you,

5/14/24 Wife visited Take 5 to complete an emissions test. She paid *****. She then went to tag office where they informed her the emissions test was not usable. The wrong date was printed. My wife also expressed to me the test felt off due to them not turning on her car during test. She returned to Take 5 and asked for re-test. They refused. She then informed them she lost a day of work and would like a refund. They refused, laughed at her, passively aggressively gave her a pamphlet for clean Air Force. She asked again. The employees then surrounded her and began to belittle her and attempted to insult her. All the employees and manager then surrounded her and began to abuse her. She called me out of fear and to come handle situation. When I arrived, an employee knocked on my car window and as I exited he began to insult my wife (who sat passively crying in her car). I told him to not have that energy and that I dont want to get him fired. He then bladed, began to threaten to knock me out, shouted racial slurs, called my wife a b**** The rest of the employees then came out. I told them to calm down. I walked to my wife to tell her to leave for her safety. She drove off and I called the police. At this point a female employee began saying my wife tried to run her over and shout racial slurs. I was informed to lock myself in my car so I did. I filed police report and explained a warrant for security camera will show everything. I also contacted GA Air Force who told me they cant issue refunds and will be auditing the site. I then contacted the corporate office for Take 5, their parent company ************* with phone, email, and online and have not received communication. My family was threatened, terrorized, and nearly assaulted during business hours by managers and employees. We were denied a refund and re-test for a service that wasnt completed.Business Response

The customer returned to the shop telling shop manager ****** that he did the test wrong and printed the wrong date on the receipt. ****** explained with being a state issued emissions machine, he cannot edit information in the computer and that she will have to contact Georgia Air Force for further assistance. Despite ******* efforts to assist, the customer then became rude and disrespectful towards the staff. The customer even made a rude comment by saying OK ****** what are you French? We also have video footage with Audio.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:We contacted clean Air Force. They do not provide refunds. The business is the only entity that can provide a refund. We will be going to small claims court as it is not resolved.
Sincerely,

Once again we do apologize for the incorrect date recorded on your invoice for the emission test. This error was due to a malfunction with the **** emissions machine. We are more than willing to offer you a full refund for the test or we can re-conduct the test to determine if the issue persists. Please let us know how you would like to proceed
