We entered into a contract with Mount Paran for our daughter who suffers from a language processing disability. We were lied to and told that they could accommodate her. Needless to say Mount Paran did not accommodate her at all. They committed malpractice, negligence, breach of contract, and fraud. As this was a business transaction and we did not get what we paid for, we want our money back. We would also like for Mount Paran to stop advertising such a program when they truly don't have one so that others can avoid what we have had to experience.

Since 1976, the Directed Studies program at Mount Paran Christian School (MPCS) has supported students with mild to moderate cognitive learning differences, applying customized learning strategies, small group instruction, learning laboratories, tutoring, mentoring, academic coaching, executive function training, classroom and testing accommodations, and advocacy services for students in lower, middle, and high school. Directed *************** are trained experts in their academic discipline and have additional specialized training to support non-traditional learners. Admission to the program requires psychoeducational testing demonstrating needs the school can reasonably provide. The program historically supports approximately 15% of students at the school and operates at full capacity, usually with a wait list.

MPCS has a college acceptance rate of about 100%, including Directed Studies students. Many students in the program excel academically, scoring above state and national averages on standardized tests. Parents receive extensive orientation upon acceptance into the program so they know what services to expect, and what expectations they must meet to remain enrolled. On occasion, students need intervention beyond what the Directed Studies program can provide, and in such cases, the school helps parents find additional or alternative educational services.

I am rejecting this response because:  This is a canned response from the website.  This is the lie that lured us into the school.  This is why we are making the public aware that they need to do their research (outside the school) before entering into any sort of contract with Mount Paran.  Simply smoke and mirrors here.  It does not address any/all of the problems faced by our family at this school.  The fact of the matter is that, especially for 4th grade, the teacher provided did not have the requisite training/degrees/credentials to teach this class, which we paid a lot of extra money for.  There are no programs in place as far as recording academic progress or programs used for children with learning disabilities as nothing could be provided by Mount Paran to the school that our daughter transferred to.  She had to spend over a month re-testing and she actually scored less than when she entered into Mount Paran.  There was zero communication by the school.  We as parents were always the ones reaching out.  The school actually created an IEP for our daughter and then failed to follow it.  It is also well documented that grades are handed out and not earned at this school; this is why you have your 100% college acceptance rate.  Children are not prepared for college at Mount Paran.  They get in, but not all graduate, which can be substantiated by parents who have children that attended this school (even teachers), as well as colleges and universities.  Let it be known to the public that there are unqualified teachers at this school, we witnessed it at both the elementary and middle levels.  *********** is more concerned about the teacher's religious affiliation rather than their skills/experience.  Education is truly lacking at Mount Paran for both children with learning disabilities and those without.  Furthermore, this school does not accept any sort of constructive criticism whatsoever.  It must be nice to be perfect, especially in a school promoting ***** dying for our sins.  Maybe focus less on memorizing Bible verses and more on actually living out what the Bible says.  Do the right thing.  Admit your mistake and give my family their money back.  Otherwise, the process of revealing your true "paid for" reputation will continue.  The ******************************* has already been made aware, but the list of others being contacted will ensue.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *******
