    PSA of the day: beware of a family owned plumbing business Woods who apparently has their business built up enough in LaFayette that they don’t take on jobs elsewhere, but when they agree to take a simple job a few miles out in Rossville, you’re going to pay 5x their material cost to make up for it. How in the world did a simple toilet leak repair end up costing $635 in material, $737 total? It shouldn’t have! The actual cost was under $70.
    Actual cost of materials:
    5ft of pipe is $17.87
    Flange is $7.97
    Wax ring bolt kit 7.98
    4”x3” rubber coupling $9.98
    3” coupling $5.89
    2 1/2” floor screws $1lb $6.88
    Pipe strapping $9.56
    But with all that priced, he didn’t need a rubber boot if he had done it right and a 2’x4’ piece of 1/2 plywood is only $15.45

    Top notch company, came very much on time, fair price, very professional and great people. Owner came with his employees to see that the job was done properly. I had hired another Lafayette company (****) last year. Not only did these do a very bad and careless, faulty job, but they said several times they would come, did not come at all, without letting me know the day before that they were not coming, I have to drive over 100 miles to get to the place where the work had to be performed. If you want to know who absolutely NOT to hire, let me know. But Woods is the BEST, no need to look any further.
