We solicited a quote from Green Earth services to apply foamsulate (spray foam) in our attic. The President of the company, *************************, came to our house at **** **************************************** to look at the job and provide an estimate. We accepted the proposed work and it was completed in Oct. 2021. In August 2022 the carpet in the upstairs Master bedroom became wet. An investigation revealed the condensate line from the **** unit in the attic had overflowed and water ran down through the walls from the attic all the way down to the basement. The condensate line overflowed because it was completely plugged with foamsulate. Because of the high humidity in the summer the plugged condensate line could not handle the higher condensate flow. The water damage required drywall repair to ceilings and walls upstairs and downstairs. The carpet in the bedroom also had to be replaced. The plugged drain line was replaced as efforts to clear the line were unsuccessful. An insurance claim was filed and the total repair cost was ~$10,000. We were responsible for a $2,000 deductible.************************* at Green Earth was contacted about the plugged line and photos were provided. He denied any responsibility because the condensate line, in his opinion, was installed in an unusual area. This anomaly was not noted by Green Earth Services when the quote for the work was provided. He has never stated what would be, in his opinion, a normal installation for a drain line. ********** Heating and Cooling was contacted as an expert in heating and cooling installation and stated that this is a normal installation for the condensate line., which runs from the unit to the nearest outside wall.We have tried for over two months to get Green Earth Services (*************************) to come to our home to see the issue in person, and discuss refunding us $2000 to cover our deductible. He has put us off repeatedly and refused to set an appointment time.
