My son was picked up on Friday 5/5/23 evening covered in bumps and a bruised lip. By the time we got home and noticed it, daycare was closed and we were confused why no one called us during the day to let us know. My son was already scheduled for his routine check up on 5/8 and before I made it to his appointment, an email was sent out from daycare saying they have an outbreak of HFMD. We went to his doctor and she confirmed he did have HFMD and for ** to keep him home one more day. She provided a doctors note for him to return to school on Wednesday 5/10. I had already paid for the week of daycare on 5/4 ($221.02) and Happy Haven refused to allow my son to return to daycare even with a doctors note. I asked for written and signed policies and procedures that I waived the right for a doctors note to not be accepted and/or that the daycare legally makes the final decision on when he can return in regards to his health care. I also wanted to be reimbursed for the days they were refusing to keep him (5/10 & 5/11) as they were saying he needed to be out **** days so Friday (5/12) was the soonest they could take him. My husband initially tried to resolve it on 5/8 and took his doctors note for them to copy. *********************** told him that she would follow up with ************************* and circle back to us, however we never heard back. Thats when I went to the building on 5/9 around 4PM. The staff was very unprofessional, never offered to discuss this in an office. The director, ******, refused to show many any documentation and said she would refund me for the week of daycare. I left and then went back to get that in writing and ****** refused insisting that I was making demand and that I have her word on getting a refund. She kept saying that she had to get her daughter to swim lessons. The staff threatened to call the police on me instead of writing a simple note. ****** said she would email it and Ive yet to receive it. I want a full refund & other people deserve one too.
