    I purchased a Steinway Model M and was assured that it was playable but may need work on the action in the future if I decided I wanted to do a restoration at some point in the future. As it turns out there was and old botched attempt to repair a part the strings run through that is screwed directly into the cast iron plate that not only damaged that part but also the adjacent part. This repair was painted over with gold paint to blend in with the rest of the cast iron plate and make it less noticeable. I offered to trade up to another piano from his inventory, but now he states he can only credit me $3,500 for a piano I paid him $10,500 for. I will never again make a purchase outside of **** where he markets his inventory as this has obviously limited my recourse against this unscrupulous seller. Regardless of how many years you may be in business it only takes one failed transaction to ruin a reputation.
