I purchased a used engine for a 2006 ***** Accord from DeKalb Auto Salvage on April 14, 2025. I paid $856 for the engine. I had a local repair shop install the engine. Upon starting the vehicle at the shop the engine smoked and operated poorly. I contacted DeKalb Auto Salvage to explain the issue and get a resolution. Per the receipt the engine would still be under a 60 day warranty. I contacted DeKalb Auto Salvage and believe I spoke with the owner and he said to repair the engine ..which it shouldn't be smoking as it is to begin with.

Ive recently purchased a transmission from the company and it was under a 60 day warranty . So , I drove the car four times and the transmission went out and before I purchased it I asked and made sure if anything went wrong then I can bring it back under warranty and get my money back . So , I called a week ahead of time and told them I was going to get it took back out to return it and they told me wait dont pull it out yet . So I ran the codes and its reading bad solenoids on the transmission which are located inside the transmission . So , now they have gave me a run around for a week in a half and my warranty will be up on December 20,2023 . They are saying they wont honor the warranty and wont refund me and are refusing too . I just want to return the transmission and get my money back and its under warranty and they have been stalling it out so they wont have to pay me it back . I got the core charge back after returning my old transmission which is when you return a used old part and they give you money back you paid so they would owe me ***** with the taxes because the transmission purchased was ***** and 80 dollars were the taxes I paid on it .

Ms. Destiny purchased the transmission for the 02 TL on October 12th.  The core was returned on October 30th.  At that time there were no issues reported with the transmission.

On December 12th, the customer reached out stating there was an issue.  We have a diagnostic protocol we follow in order to determine if there is an issue with the transmission that we are liable for. The customer sent the codes that were shown when the vehicle was hooked up to the diagnostic computer and none of them were transmission related. Also on the original receipt, there was a 30 day warranty, 60 day warranty was written by the customer.  No one here at this business has that handwriting. Clearly placed signs throughout the business show that there are no cash refunds given, exchange only, based on our diagnostic protocol and within the specified warranty period, which had already expired.

When I purchased the transmission October 12*****. I didnt receive the transmission until October 20th ***** . They kept saying the mechanic was working out pulling it out of a car . So I was told the warranty wouldnt start until I received the transmission so it started October 20th 2023. Also , they have lied about the customer which would be me writing 60 days on the recipient and you can pulled the cameras back from October 30th 2023 and see clear as day the man working there wrote it down the day I returned my old transmission to get the core charge back that day . That is very unprofessional to sit there and lie about something that will be on camera. My dad just called the business and told them who wrote the 60 days on there and they said the owner is out of country . Then the codes the car is reading two of them are to the transmission and it is for two solenoids located inside the transmission . Which would be a result of them selling bad parts . So when I called a week before my transmission went out to tell them I was bringing it back they stalled for a week and a half trying to reach when the warranty is over and give me the run around on why I cant take the transmission out the car to return it . Also , I was completely fine with receiving a different transmission . But I filed my complaint to BBB before the warranty was up due to the fact I knew the business was making every excuse not to exchange or refund when its their wrong on their behalf of selling a no good part . That is ***** dollars . So yes I would like them to pull the camera back October 30th to show where the man wrote the 60 days down hisself because I dont appreciate the business lying like that . That is very unprofessional and not right at all . Two codes are the transmission and my car is not going in no drive gears or nothing so my transmission is no good I was sold a bad transmission and they do not want to replace it . Pull the cameras back and you will see where the man wrote it .

My most sincerest apologies but per company policy we do not issue any cash refunds, as it written on several signs throughout the business. We do however offer replacement parts for anything deemed to not be working per diagnostic protocol within warranty.

The codes were for selenoids, which are outside of the transmission, not inside the transmission and therefore not covered by warranty.

There are no "tapes can that can we pulled" regarding finding the employee that wrote the warranty information on the ticket.  When the core was returned and notation was made on the receipt, that was all that was written on the invoice.  Transmission warranties are typically **************************************************************************************************************************************** service and parts, even in the used parts business. However had this issue been approached to get a replacement and get the transmission diagnosed following our business protocol within the warranty period rather than demanding a refund and accusing our business our lying, perhaps a different result could have been attained. This is a well established business run by professionals and we do not take any pride nor intentionally or personally put an effort into giving any customer a hard time. We try our best to resolve all issues.

I have contacted yall before the warranty was up because when I was driving on the road my car literally died in the road and will not go in drive or any gear for the matter and then it sounded loud and like it locked up and then you say I accused your business of lying when you actually did tell a lie and say I wrote the 60 day warranty on the paper when I didnt and if yall had cameras yall would know the man that was in the front that day wrote it the same day the fire was returned and I contacted yall in the warranty period and was stalled out until my warranty was up for a response back and if my gear arent switching its the transmission for that matter . No one tried to resolve the issues . I was told someone would call me back with more information time after time . But thats fine yall took advantage of a 9 month pregnant woman with a 11 month old just to get money . Then knew the transmission was no good . Yeah yall are a part yard but I asked before I bought it was there any known issues and I was told no no its a good transmission . So therefore yall just wanted the money . Then lied about me signing 60 day warranty when I dont write like that . Maybe you should find the employee who wrote it . Instead of accusing a customer of writing it . I told yall drive or nothing is working  . But no one wanted to help resolve and soon as I said I was going to bring the transmission back yall said dont take it just to stall time and I filed a complaint with the BBB before the warranty was over . So make it make sense .
