Although *** could have been a reputable football prep program, they are not. The owners of this program did not fulfill their promise to provide housing, meals, ACT prep, football player development, educational support, and a college level weight training program - all advertised on their website as included in the fees paid. The program was advertised to last from 8/3/24 to 12/15/24. In September, *** announced the program would end on 10/27/24...after they had collected all the money they could. When I asked for a refund multiple times, the owners refused. OPA neglected our players in every way, mentally, emotionally, and physically. The apartments they promised weren't provided. The players were housed temporarily in hotels and were evicted every 2-3 weeks due to *** not paying. *** told families our players would be practicing on the *** practice field. That was not true and our players were nearly arrested for trespassing on the field. The coach was not present and that's the only reason they weren't arrested. Over half of the games were canceled, and several coaches quit by October. Receiving the meal plan card for *** was about a month late, and ended early yet no money was returned to us. A few players shared that because of the treatment from the head coach and the horrible programming, they were not improving, felt depressed, but were afraid of retaliation from the head coach. Players shared that when they asked questions about why they must keep moving or when they would have lunch after going without food for up to 6 hours at a time, they would be scolded and ridiculed by the *** owners and staff. Despite the owner's refusal to refund our money, we moved on from the toxicity and our son is now in college and thriving. Yes, *** may give a few scholarships to make it look good. They take in homeless players for free but is it okay when they con other families from the previous year to finance programming for new families? Where's the integrity in that?
