Be very wary of this company's business ethics. Allied installed two short sections of fence at my home. The installer used a post drilling machine to dig the post holes (instead of a shovel). One of the holes was drilled 6 inches from a (very visible) irrigation valve cover causing $500 in damage to our irrigation system. I have offered to pay them $2,500 of the $3,000 invoice. Allied's owner (*******************) maintains that Allied is not responsible for their worker's negligence and refuse to pay for the damages. Allied is threatening to lien our property rather than acknowledge their installation mistakes and make us whole. There are lots of fence companies out there, you should choose one that's honest.

For 70 years, Allied Fence has satisfied tens of thousands of clients. Providing the industrys highest level of customer service and integrity has been the key to our excellent reputation among Atlantas most illustrious clients. At Allied Fence, we own up to our mistakes. If our crew negligently damaged this irrigation pipe we would have quickly accepted responsibility. But what happened is quite different than reported. On or around August 24, while manually digging a hole about two feet from a valve cover, not using a power tool as alleged (and has been clearly explained to the customer), our crew encountered an irrigation line. No water leaked from the pipe, so the crew felt certain that the pipe was not damaged. They halted work and our project manager notified the customer. Together, they determined where to reroute the fence to avoid the line. The fence was installed in a different location on September 2. It was not until over four months later, upon receiving another follow up request to pay the 120+ day old invoice, did the customer claim that the irrigation system had been harmed. He initially stated that $1,850.00 damage had been done to their system. He back-tracked on that amount, but still demanded that Allied Fence deduct $600 from the invoice. I met the client at his home a few days later. He claimed that his irrigation did not leak when our crew was there in August because the irrigation system was turned off. He explained We did not need irrigation at the time because we were away. He then said that he sought emergency irrigation repair service around September 9 and paid a premium price for the repair that was completed September 23, per the invoice that he provided. Even though the Allied Fences contract says we are not responsible for damage to buried lines, I quickly offered to pay $175.00 towards the repair cost, which is a common cost to repair a damaged irrigation pipe. Ultimately, the client, short paid the invoice by $560.00. Paid in Full was written on the February 27 check. The check has not been accepted, leaving the full balance, less a $175 accommodation being owed.Exercising sound business ethics, Allied Fence addressed the clients delayed concerns promptly and professionally, just like any business with an A+ Better Business Bureau rating should do.*******************, President
