Date of Transaction:The payment in question was issued in October 2023.Amount ************************** issued a payment of approximately $7,228.94 directly to Magnum Collision. What the Business Committed to Provide:Magnum Collision was contracted to perform repairs on my vehicle following an accident. They received then cashed a check from the responsible party's insurance (Progressive) for parts then came back and deemed the car a total loss. Then my insurer (State Farm) paid for the car to be fixed and Magnum Collision lied and told me the check to progressive was sent back then proceeded to charge State Farm for the same parts they charged progressive. Nature of the Dispute:Magnum Collision accepted payment from both Progressive (at-fault drivers insurer) and State Farm (my insurer) for the same repairs. This resulted in a duplicate/overpayment. State Farms subrogation process identified the overpayment and is now seeking recovery, for which I am being held responsible. I have received a letter from collections that i am responsible for a check i never received. Why the Business Should Be Liable:I did not receive these funds personally. Magnum Collision was the direct recipient of both payments and should be the party responsible for resolving any financial discrepancy. The payment never passed through me, and I did not authorize or benefit from any duplicate reimbursement.Attempts to Resolve:I have contacted both State Farm and Magnum Collision. Despite multiple attempts, Magnum Collision has not returned the funds or resolved the overpayment issue, and I am now being pursued by a collection agency for funds I never received.

I had two different insurance claims for my car. Both claims required separate payment. I took my vehicle to the shop and dropped off the car. After being told the car was being worked on I called about a month later to see what all was left on the car. To my surprise the mechanic told me that they had not even started on the car because they had not received pay. This would normally be okay however, the shop never reached out to my adjuster to see why they had not gotten paid nor did they reach out to me to inform me they hadnt started. Over the course of the next month, after calling and calling I finally called and told the shop not to work on the car as I felt I was being bs and was going to take the car elsewhere. When I got off work that same day I drove to the shop to pick up the vehicle. Only to find out they started work WITHOUT PAYMENT on their own. Meaning the repairs they were doing were not yet covered. After being told they would not hold my car without payment. They then proceed to lie about new fault codes popping up and parts all of a sudden not working. After I finally asked for documentation proof of what repairs and parts were still needed, miraculously my car was finished.(I never received a call saying the car was finished I only knew because I made time to go to the shop that day) after getting my car back turns out the fault code was due to them not reconnecting the lights.

I am rejecting this response because: the complaint is that I was promised my car on September 5th. I was told extra work was being done on my car. Yet the car was returned with lights unplugged. And no proof of maintenance or parts ordered were provided when asked. Actually my car became done the same day I requested said documentation. Which was never provided. The lights unplugged were a very easy fix yet it took this shop over a week to do so. Leaving me without a car and a way to get to work for a week.

    Sincerely,

    *****************************

We got an estimate from Magnum in March 2022 for a repair to our Tesla. Magnum advertised they were a Tesla certified shop. They advised it would be 4-6 weeks to get parts in. For the next 6 months, we called regularly and were either told the parts haven't arrived or they'd check on things. We finally got a call at the end of August 2022 that the parts arrived and to bring the car in for repair. Three weeks later, they still hadn't repaired the car. They found additional damage that was not on the estimate, and they were unable to repair it because they could not get the parts needed. They could not get the parts needed because they actually were not a certified Tesla repair shop (not at the time of the estimate or at the time of the supposed repair). They were unable to repair our car causing us to have to find another shop who would accept a vehicle torn apart by a disreputable shop. We had to pay $789 at the end of September 2022 to get our car from Magnum even though they did not repair the vehicle. They said those charges were for work they did but they did no work other than take the car apart KNOWING they should not touch it as they were not certified. They falsely and fraudulently advertised that they were Tesla certified (on their website and in their shop) and lied to us multiple times during the nearly 8 month ordeal. When we finally made arrangements to have the car towed to another shop, they did not even offer an apology for the lies or the massive inconvenience they caused. We were without our vehicle for a month while it sat at this shop and then another 2 months while it was properly repaired by a reputable shop. We are looking for a refund of the $789 we paid for absolutely no work by Magnum. We have attached photos of their website and of our estimate showing they advertised being Tesla certified.

Date of transaction - picked up car 01/24/26, dropped off car 11/28/22/12/8/22, paid ******* after only authorized estimate of *******. They more than doubled the estimate after claiming they had to replace parts that were listed as repairs, or replace parts that were totally unrelated to the incident. They claimed they replaced the front bumper that had no damage, which State Farm refused to pay for, and then Magnum did not provide the so-called damaged parts such as the entire front bumper that they claim to have replaced, although they presented to State Farm that they did have these parts, and that they would provide them for examination. State Farm states they never received any evidence whatsoever, no photographs, they came and towed the car for an in-person inspection and Magnum claimed they would include the parts in question and they did not. Now that we have the car back it is evident that this is the original bumper, Magnum only did minor repairs but did not replace the bumper, they did shoddy work, they damaged other parts of my vehicle while it was in their possession, and I made over 30 plus phone calls to them for updates, information, trying to get documentation, and was never able to obtain any proof. When I picked up my car the assist straps on the interior had been removed and were not able to be refastened properly, so those fell down on my drive home. They also claimed they had to replace the passenger side rocker panel because it was a one-use part, but it should have never even been taken off, and ***** has confirmed that this is NOT a one-time use part and that it can easily be removed and put back on, there are merely clips that hold it on. Although it is clear that they took the bumper off, it is not back on correctly and is not aligned properly. But we believe this is a case of false and misleading claims to charge insurance companies for work that is not needed or not done.
