    **************************** was hired by me to install flooring in my downstairs area-kitchen/living room/dining room/bath/hallway. He did the work on August 1 and 2, 2022. I paid $1260 cash for his work. Immediately nails started coming up through the kitchen floor. Within a few days I noticed that the boards in the other areas were coming up on the ends and even coming apart. I contacted *****************, he was mostly unresponsive but the few times he responded he was unreasonable, uncaring, and ultimately told me to leave him alone. I appealed to *********, the online company that I found and hired him through. Thumbtack has a guarantee that enabled us to repair the problem in the kitchen but did not give us enough to repair the remaining areas. We now have to pay to have redone what we already paid for once. It will cost us more this time because the poor installation has to be taken up, the subfloor properly prepared this time, and flooring relaid, and we have to buy all new flooring. I checked on this form that we haven't taken any legal action against ****************** as of now, Sept 30, 2022 but we may do so when we know the full price of taking up and replacing and purchasing replacement flooring. I am attaching pictures of our floor. The pictures with stick tabs show the places in the kitchen where nail heads were coming through. The last pictures show the boards coming up and the damage on the ends (it was hard to get accurate picture of that) but there are at least 50 places where that has happened and it gets worse every day. ****************** also left bare subfloor showing at doorway thresholds. He left us with a terrible mess!
