      I had a service call on 4/24/2024 for a repair to my washing machine. My machine would not spin. The policy was the service call would be waived if repair made. The technician advised me that the repair need was tub bearing. The technician stated that this part was over $400 and he this model of machine was not making this repair. I said this was a newer smart machine. The technician then said GE were purchased by **************** and it was not a good machine. I paid him the $95.00 service fee. Later that evening I went online and discovered they this part was being sold from $49 to $99. I reached out to another appliance repair company. The discovered the actual issue. There was a broken belt and damaged sensor. The total cost for repair was $277. I have reached out to original technician and he has not responded after multiple attempts.

      This is the first were hearing about a complain from customer. We use authentic parts , not Amazon parts or used parts . Really disappointed that she just didnt call us and told us.

      Date of transaction: Feb 2016 Amount of money paid to business: $360 What the business committed to provide: Replacement parts for kitchen range Nature of dispute: Price gouging Whether business has tried to resolve the problem: No. I phoned ******, the company technician, to ask him why he billed me $360 for four (4) parts that ranged in price from $25-45 each. He stated that he adds a mark-up for each part that he orders. I told him that while I understand a percentage of the price might be a necessary add on in order to compensate his office for time spent placing orders, more than double the price for these parts was exorbitant. He told me not to contact him again and hung up the phone on me. Did not issue any refund for the overage.Account/Order/Tracking Number: not provided by company Extenuating circumstances: Transaction was ordered through my property broker as I was out of state. I complained to them for resolution before contacting the business, but never received follow-up.
