I recently received a bill from this dentist for the first time. I have not been to this dentist since 20**. The bill indicates that I have missed an appointment and charges a ridiculous fee and then a $10 fee per month not paid. I have phone records indicating the date we called and cancelled the appointment that was scheduled. The appointment was scheduled for early 2024. We have lived in a different city since September of 20** so naturally we cancelled. We are just getting the bill which is threatening us with collection. No service was rendered and we did cancel the appointments.

Appointments with our doctor and hygienists are reserved exclusively for each patient so that we can prepare and give each patient dedicated time.  As such, we have an office policy that requires a standard missed appointment fee to be applied to missed appointments or appointments cancelled without 24 hour notice.  We do make an effort to help patients by attempting reminder calls.  Any changes to appointments and contact with patients is automatically time and date stamped and conversations are noted.  We graciously offered to waive one of the missed appointment fees and any associated late fee for delinquent payment even though our records indicate conversations about address and an appointment was made and then confirmed after the stated move.  We respectfully agree that the patient will be a better fit at another office going forward.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:We called and cancelled our appointments.  I have a message from the dentists office admiring that they only “take notes” during phone calls and therefore cannot provide proof of our cancellation. It appears the dentist office did not take proper notes during our cancellation phone call. Also, we have had another dentist for the past year and half since, once again, we do not live in ******** any longer. This dentist wants me to pay for services not received.

    Sincerely,
    ******* ******
