When I was moving from *******, *******, Max took in four of my oriental rugs with the promise that he would help identify a rug for my new home in *****. I have been trying over 2 1/2 years to get him to follow through on that promise or to package up my rugs and I would pay to have them ship or he could pay me $2500. Excuse after excuse oh yes, Im doing it and then there is no follow through. I have visited his store two or three times since then to ask him about my rugs. Always an excuse of being too busy. He will not answer my phone calls anymore or my emails and the most recent letter I sent was returned unopened. I cannot get him to resolve this issue. I have a receipt of the four rugs he took into his shop.

On February 19, 2023, ********************* picked up two rugs for cleaning, one a wool rug, the other a Chinese oriental. The cleaning was paid for up front, $564.00.I told him I was in no hurry to get the rugs back as I was having knee surgery in February. I believe I began to call him in July to see when we could get the rugs delivered. By the beginning of September I sent him an email stating that I had waited long enough for the rugs, and he should bring the rugs back as soon as possible. We seemed playing phone tag. On the 29th of September, be brought the rugs back. The wool rug looked terrific. When the Oriental rug was rolled out, the urine odor was overpowering. There was what looked like fresh urine stains on my carpet. He assured me the smell would go way, and the rug stain would fade. My dog had urinated on the rug, hence the cleaning, but never like what I saw on the returned carpet. *** said he was going out of town and if it bothered me to call him. I had my neighbors came over that afternoon and the stench was overpowering. I showed them the spots. They said that the stains looked recent, but beside that, the smell was too fresh. I called *** the next day to say the carpet had to go. He took it back to the shop for a recleaning. Two weeks later he brought it back. The yellow stains looked lighter, but they were not gone. I wrote to *** and told him I was not satisfied with the results and I would like my money back ($324.00). He said no. His contract listed all the risks concerning the rug cleaning. I understand that. He did however clean these rugs once before and they came back perfect. He wrote me back and said I knew the risks, the rugs "were perfect" and there was nothing he could do. I responded that I was willing to let him try to get the stains out, but if he could not, I wanted my money back. He has not responded.Attached is his last response to my email. He states, "your two rugs are in perfect condition." I beg to differ.
