This concerns a laptop computer I bought April of last year, not sure of the exact date. It was manufactured by American Megatrends **** located in the state of *******, U.S.A. I bought it from seller: rateyuso(16) via ***** I paid $330.16. I set up the computer, charged the battery but did not use it. But when I did, I discover the battery had discharged from 100% to 56% without any use. I have recharged the battery many times with the same result. Charge, then discharge after a few hours without any use. I contacted the seller and explained the problem. At first, they did not want to take any action. Eventually, they agreed to send me a replacement battery for me to install. I explained that I was not a computer technician that they would have to pay for the installation fee. I got an estimate of the cost and relayed that information to seller. Eventually, they agreed to send me the new battery and to pay the fee. Then, silence. I sent many emails and got no response. I then contacted **** and they said the their guarantee was over as 90 days had passed. I explained what had happened with the seller. I then, located the manufacturer and tried to contact them. I called their # listed on their site, but it is impossible to talk to anybody. I left several messages. No response.I then, sent a letter explaining the problem and got no answer. I tried to send an email but their system does not accept emails from gmail.com or yahoo.com. I don't know what else to do in terms of contacting American Megatrends. My complaint about a faulty product was withing American Megatrends year's guarantee for their product. American Megatrends is the ultimate responsible as they manufactured the product--laptop computer--that is not working properly. I don't know if the problem is the battery or something else. The battery has to be from American Megatrends. No other battery can be used.
