This BBB compliant covers two seniors - **** and ****** ***** (75 and 73 years old respectively). It covers three appointments for **** and four for ****** on the following dates (10-25-2023; 05-14-2024; 11-26-2024 and 03-06-2025 (****** only). All of our bills had required payment plans prior to treatment. Small adjustments were paid shortly after receipt. So what a surprise when **** was waiting on insurance payment of less than $100 (for 3 sessions) when his next bill was $569 this spring (April 2025). We had just made an additional final payment of approximately $30 for ****** followed by a very surprising $500+ bill (June 2025). These surprise bill cause us to contact our insurance company where we found AspenDental treatment included high cost treatments not covered by our insurance when lower cost options were available. The big concern is no dialog occurred about options nor cost. Predatory treatment due to our age must have occurred - we paid the balance due in full prior to treatment. So we concluded they knew what it cost, what the insurance would pay, than charge us the difference. We owed nothing once leaving their facilities. We are asking for the balance due to be eliminated; stop predatory practices against senior and others; stop practice of hiding charges until several visits.

8-24-2023 my first visit to Aspen dental Norcross ******* where doctor **** PROMISED TO GET MY SMILE BACK. ****** WAS THE **** FOR premiumDENTURES. All of my money five credit cards maxed out $2,000 borrowed from my mother and two dental savings plans, one provided by Aspen dental and the other by *****. This was how I paid in full,to break it down the dental savings plan knocked $5,205.43 off of my overall $****** bill my responsibility was $10, ******. first visit removed all my teeth... So my next visit was in 6 months after my mouth healed. To my surprise there was a new office manager and a new receptionist the receptionist called me in 30 minutes early my appointment to go over my bill. I informed her that I had no bill I had paid for it up front and that's when she decided to tell me what insurance company to do when they nickel and dimeyou. I thought her story very interesting but I explained to her I had no insurance that this was a dental savings plan she has no idea what one of these are but she went on to describe why and how she was able to come up with 1600 more dollars to charge me in accumulated $10 $5 $2 and distance to the bill saying that the insurance company didn't pay this amount she had no idea that the actual overall amount was a discount in other words this is how much they charge for the procedure and the remainder I paid she was deducting money out of what I paid saying I didn't pay this amount and added up to 1600 and so on amount of money. When it was obvious that the charges were fraudulent she went on to say oh we made a mistake and didn't charge you for two of the teeth that were extracted then it turned out to only be one tooth and they haven't checked to see but that one tooth never was there it was missing before I showed up. Yet they will not give me my permanent final set of teeth until I paid this outstanding bill. Tampering with permanent medical records is a federal offense as I understand.
