I asked how much a diagnostic would cost and the clerk said anywhere between from 4-525.00. The service advisor asked, what problems are you having, and I said I think it may be the nox sensor and the A/C is not working it looks like it may be straight wired but I wasn't sure, but that was the purpose of getting a diagnostic. But when I picked up the truck, they charged me ******! They charged me for 2 diagnostics, one for each item I said to them! Never was I told that I would be charged for each individual thing I said! And to top it off they charged a connection fee of ***** a shop supplies Fee of *****..... and FOR WHAT! I was misled about the price of the service I asked them to do AND overcharged for the service I asked for! I should not have to pay for a connection fee or shop supplies fee as that does not have anything to do with me or the service I requested. Their HOURLY RATE IS $198.00 how can you charge me for both hourly and the service fee when you didn't do any repairs you simply did a diagnostic. I should only be charged for 1 diagnostic fee NOT FOR 2 DIAGNOSTICS! I should be refunded for 1 diagnostic charge and the shop fee and connection fee. BUYERS BEWARE AS THEY ARE CHARGING PER ITEM AND MISCELLANOUS FEES!!!!!

I am rejecting this response because I am still wanting on a response back. The manager at there corporate office located in ******** Said he would need to reach out to the  manager at *************** Location where this situation took place. I gave him my invoice number and he said that he doesn't know if that manager will reach back out to me. This is definitely a case of misleading customers on pricing and charging ridiculous fees such as shop supply fee's and connection fees of which none of this is told to the customer up front until you pickup your vehicle and you see it on your invoice. You're force to pay it because there holding your vehicle.  All of this should be clearly stated before you leave your vehicle there.

      Sincerely,

There were two separate complaints on this unit. One was for the Check Engine Light. We performed extensive diagnostics to determine the root cause of the issue. The customer declined the repairs after the diagnostics were completed.

The second complaint was the A/C being straight wired. We performed diagnostics and made an estimate. The customer declined the repairs.

There are diagnostics charges for the time spent in determining the cause of the issues and building estimates.

This location has been in business since **** and has always charged shop charges for all repair orders. This is standard practice in our industry.

It is clearly marked with signage in our customer write up area that the customer will be responsible for all diagnostic charges even if the repairs are declined. There is a photo attached of one of these signs. There is also a copy of the repair order attached.

11/01/2021 my 18 ******* truck broke down an was towed to peachstate freightliner. There it was diagnosed with Exhaust manifold leak, truck derated to 5mph, defective VGT actuator, an Turbo, an misfiring #6 injector.as well as Bog down dead batteries. First I paid for Exhaust manifold leak and Doc clean., VGT actuator an Turbo part wasn't available an were on back order so my truck never left there shop. I was granted permission to seek an buy VGT actuator and Turbo elsewhere. Which I finally did in May 2022. Peachstate never changed dead batteries, so they couldn't test drive truck an repairs. They installed Turbo an actuator an #6 injector but because no batteries they couldn't performed test drive. I arrived July 23rd 2022 with batteries I bought and installed batteries myself on my truck they gave me receipts for repair an Sent me on my way. 20 miles away all 3 check engine lights came on I call peachstate reported this the took notes an documented it. They told me to bring truck back to shop tomorrow I let them know I couldn't but I would have truck taken to ****** freightliner where I lived. Upon arrival the coolant line bust or disconnected. Peachstate is denying ever touching my coolant lines. But it clearly shows the disconnected both oil an coolant lines in both receipts to fix the exhaust manifold leak first then when the installation of VGT actuator an Turbo an #6 injector. They are refusing to fix, repair the problem that I already paid to have them fix. It's codes that are consistent with codes that were supposed to already be fixed.

      Hello *****,

We understand the impact of not having your truck on the road, and hope it is all resolved quickly. We reviewed our records of this transaction and spoke to the Freightliner dealer in ****** where your unit went for repairs after leaving our Forest Park location. We verified that the recent coolant leak was at the DEF header area. We were working in the engine area and the lines that were repaired at the ****** dealer were at the transmission area, these are not close by each other. The ****** dealer did communicate to you that the failure was unrelated to the previous repairs. The codes you are referring to being consistent with repairs you paid for are historical codes. It is normal for the system to store these, but the only active codes at the ****** dealership were for low coolant which is consistent with the leaking coolant lines. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist you further.

      Thank you,
