    Business Response

The initial loss last year had affected roughly half of ******************* home. It is a trailer with 1/4" drywall that is vinyl coated, so standard method for mitigation is removal. When the loss occurred, the homeowner shut off that portion of the home, causing excessive microbial growth on various surfaces.

To remediate the issue, drywall, insulation and flooring were removed from the home in the affected areas. The subfloor (standard mobile home so particle board) was saturated and deformed and this necessitated removal as well. After demolition and dry out, the areas affected were encapsulated (probably unnecessary, but it was done regardless). During this period, debris was left in the yard from the crawlspace. This was removed by our team.

During the repairs, only a few exterior walls were insulated. The subfloor which was originally 1/2" particle board, was replaced with 3/4" OSB T.I.G. plywood, and sealed with fire foam around the framing, . This is where the job was stopped.

The homeowner was understandably upset, but has agreed that his expenses to date ($13k approximately) were far less than the actual work preformed ($21k). After our company had the debris removed, and we reached an agreement to credit the remaining balance from ******'s account for work completed , he has settled with us to cut the project as it stands, and use the remaining funds from the initial budget to make the proper repairs to his home using a contractor of his choosing.
