The business Vetted Viable Construction LLC came out to do an estimate on my property on March *******. ************** then returned to the property on March 20, 2024 to provide a contract going over all the things that I asked to be repaired. We agreed to the amount of 85k on that date of March *******. The work was started on April 2, 2024 as promised in the contract. We never agreed on a specific date when the work would be finished. I then asked when would the project be finished? ************** said he would be done at the end of May 2024. I gave ************** a deposit for 30k to start the job on April 2, 2024. I have all of my receipts. ************** kept asking for money before the project was halfway complete with promise the work will get done. The house was promised demo with demo removal, drywall repair, painting installation, bathrooms renovations, kitchen renovation, flooring installation, deck installation and retaining wall repair. Totaling up to ******k. Then he said the siding on the backside of the house needed to be repaired which was a total of 2k extra. I agreed for it to be fixed. Then he said a pipe had busted in the downstairs area an that was ****** to repair in which I gave him ****** for that upfront. Around the 2nd week in June I had moved into the property the work wasnt completed. The flooring was put down an one half of a bathroom had been started on but not completed just one sink a toilet and a bathtub. The kitchen is still completely gutted no sink or stove since June its now the end of August. ************** kept promising me he would be back every time I communicated with him it was always another excuse several times. My daughter inherited this house when she turned eighteen. I had been in an out of court fighting for this property because we had a squatter. He was put out the same day I call this General Contractor to come give an estimate. August ******* is when ************** said he wasnt continuing the job an that what I paid him wasnt enough.

************, I represent the company Vetted and Viable Construction LLC. We started a job with ****************************, because she was referred to us by a family member who's project we completed. She entered into a contract with us based on false pretenses! She gave sob stories about the squatter who I later found out it was a relative. With the sob stories I had compassion on her and we did several things that were not even contractual. Such as, installing a Ring alarm system, we moved trash out of her house that caused us to use 10 dumpster instead of 5. We had her lawn mowed on several occasions. We installed smoke and carbon monoxide detector. We installed recessed lights instead of standard lighting. We cut down tree limbs that were hazardous to the house and upgraded her flooring to LVP WATERPROOF FLOORING instead of laminate flooring. We started to install siding at a discounted rate because we believed she was truly in dire straits. Our company later found out from a family relative that she had more than enough money to pay for the work that was being done. Our contract States, we have the right to stop work at a customer home in the event of any DISCREPANCIES OR ACTS OF DECEPTION BY THE CUSTOMER TO DEFRAUD OUR LABOR. ************* in our opinion knowingly deceived our company and took advantage of our kindness! We believe the work we have done far exceeds what she has paid our company. ************* said to me that what she sold her other house for was nobody's business and she has another house that she rents! We're not against her prospering in life, however, we're in total disagreement with blatantly taking advantage of someone. She stated to us that her quote from another company was $225 thousand and I told her it's worth $140 thousand. We would have NEVER entered into an agreement with anyone who would have said they only want to pay $85 thousand and I personally know it's worth much more. Our company did her job in good faith and she took advantage of us. She also moved back into her home while it was still being worked on and that created a problem. She said she didn't want to pay anymore rent where she was living. We sent a letter invoking our right to stop the job, because of the deception. She signed the contract willingly and was not forced! We never said we wouldn't finish it. She also has our materials paid for by VVC we have the receipts. She also has our tools that she is in possession of. I believe the resolution is to admit she deceived us and she never expected her own family to reveal the information we received. Our hearts was taken by her sob story and that's why we wanted to help her. We believe she owes us!
