This company was contracted to perform title and escrow closing services on a real estate transaction. They failed to record the title correctly. They failed to prepare the closing documents correctly. We had to pay additional costs, after the closing due to their errors and lack of professionalism. We are requesting a refund on the fees we paid them.

    Business Response

Mr. ******s complaints are 1) that we did not prepare his property deed according to his instructions and 2) we missed a fee that should have been included on his settlement statement.

    1) We prepared the deed in accordance to the contract terms that he and his partners signed.  We have made multiple offers to correct his deed at our cost, but he has refused to provide us with ANY information about what corrections he wants us to make.

    2) The fee that we failed to add to his settlement statement is a fee that he would pay no matter what (he ended up paying it directly to the homeowner's association rather than paying it at closing).  There were no penalties or fees assessed to Mr. ***** for this error.  If he had incurred any penalties or fees, we would have paid those on his behalf.

Mr. ***** received the services he paid for and we have offered to correct (or pay to correct) the errors he alleges.  Additionally, Mr. ***** has started an online smear campaign against my company without providing us an opportunity to work with him toward a resolution.  I am not inclined at this time to refund any of our fees.

    Customer Answer

The business owner has agreed to correct and refile the title.   In retrospect, the Keller Williams sales agent failed to communicate our wishes and written directions to the title company, resulting in the

title being recorded incorrectly.   Social media posting about our negative experience have been removed.  We are now waiting to see if in fact, the business owner does what she offered and fixes the title and

    has it recorded.
