This complaint is regarding an ongoing issue with Ammons Accelerated Automotive. I entrusted ********************** with my 2001 Dodge Dakota to rebuild the engine after it began rod knocking. I paid $5,600 upfront to cover the initial costs associated, though no final quote was provided in June 2024. It is noted the truck was fully operational & running, and I drove it to his shop to begin. He disassembled and failed to restore it to working condition. Over the course of 9 months, I received numerous delays regarding the truck, with no progress. Despite repeated attempts to contact him and resolve the situation, my truck remained inoperable. After months of delay, I had the truck towed elsewhere; the mechanic informed me that the truck required a new engine and could not be repaired. A 2nd shop confirmed this. Given the truck was permanently inoperable, I had to sell it as a parts vehicle & buy a new truck. I contacted ********************** to request a refund for the remaining balance, which should have covered the labor costs- ignored. I sent a Civil Demand Letter requesting both receipts for the parts purchased and refund of the remaining balance, which had not been completed. He responded with an itemized invoice for parts that coincidentally totaled $5,600, but no receipts. ********************** claimed he had receipts, directed me to contact his lawyer for any further communication, & threatened to sue me for additional labor costs, stating that I had only paid the cost of parts. No receipts were provided to verify. The truck remains inoperable, and I did not receive the service I paid for. The job was never completed, yet Mr. ********************** is attempting to claim more money from me. I am requesting that BBB investigate/assist me in obtaining a refund for the remaining balance.Supporting Documentation:Copy of the Civil Demand Letter sent to Mr. **********************.Text messages and email correspondence showing my attempts to resolve the issue with Itemized invoice from **********************.
