    Giving one star only because I have to put something. If I could give zero starts I would! Planet Fitness allowed my 13 year old son to obtain a membership without parental consent. He signed a contract he, as a minor, can not be legally held accountable for. Nor as a minor did he understand. My son didn't have a checking account but the club let him sign up with his savings account ATM card. Because he didn't have a checking account he was charged late fees due to the company having issues taking his payments out. He signed for a membership at the beginning of November and was charged twice that month because they take their monthly payments out mid month, so he was charged a start up fee when he joined then the regular monthly rate 2 weeks later. A fact that was not explained to him when he signed up. He received late fees due to not having a checking account to draw payments from. In the 2 1/2 months my son had a membership with Planet Fitness he was charged $96 for his $10 monthly membership. When I found out about this and went to the gym with my son to cancel the membership and try to recoup the late fees he was charged I was told by the gym manager there was nothing they could do, that the late fee policy was in the contract my son signed. I asked for the **'s info to contact them. I emailed the ** but never heard back from them. Planet Fitness allowing minors to enter into contracts without parental consent should not be allowed. Taking $96 from a child and shrugging it off like it's ok is disgusting.
