In November 2022 I purchased a 2006 Buick Rendezvous from ***, the owner. I initially found the vehicle on ******** where he had it posted for sale. The wording/verbage in the ad did not lead me to believe the car had any major issues; of course wear was expected due to the year of the vehicle and milege in excess of *******. However, I would not have spent $2500 on a vehicle that I knew needed any type of work for it to transport me to and from work/school, in the least. It was supposed to be drive ready, as it was already missing accessories that we agreed I would purchase the vehicle without. When I was physically present at his property, he told me he had driven the vehicle and it had no major issues of leaks. The test drive went well and it was sold as is/no warranty, which I understood, since he assured me that as a mechanic and the owner he was selling me as sound of a car as he could. Within a week, I was experiencing overheating and took the vehicle back to him. He looked it over, but did not thouroughly check, and sent me on my way. As of December, the vehicle quit being driveable. After an oil change, I was informed it had oil, engine and coolant leaks. **********, the leaks led to the overheating of the vehicle, and now it needs $2000-$3000 worth of work. I spoke with *** from the shop I was at with the vehicle, and he disclosed to me that he had never driven the car prior to our test drive, and that he never inspected the vehicle for issues and leaks. He stated that it was a trade it that he couldn't do much with and just wanted to make a sale. Our conversation led me to believe it was a dated vehicle with a solid foundation, not a lemon with underlying issues that I was not informed of. There were also multiple times I reached out to him via email or FB messenger, and even asked my mentor to step in for support, and he wouldn't respond to any of our communications and has indicated that he can't assist with a resolve.
