January 5, I dropped off my Santa Suit to be cleaned. They stated that it would not be any problem to clean the suit. The white material that is on the suit that looks like fur, was discolored and turned red. They have been telling me that it's being repaired. They can't get replacement fur. I've asked them to replace the suit. I'm getting no satisfaction in any way and they will not tell me who the owner is. I have to have a replacement, from the same place that the original came from. Being Santa ***** is a calling and I do this not only at Christmas but throughout the year. I'm getting no where with this company.

    Hi *******!

We did have this customer come to our store in January.  The fur on his Santa jacket was damaged, and we offered to have it fixed.  He wanted the suit replaced, and said it was $700.  Our manager balked at this, suspecting it was not true.  He then came back and wanted $600, then $500.  Finally, he brought in an invoice that said $400.  This was not a brand new suit and had much wear.  Legally, we are only responsible for 10x the amount of the cleaning cost, so his $12 cleaning would amount to $120.  He, of course, was not happy with this.  When we offered to pay for the jacket, he said he wanted the money and the jacket.  We don't do that--no dry cleaner does that, as when we pay for a garment we keep it--as insurance for the history of the situation and the payment.  Otherwise it would be a type of fraud for us to pay, and give the garment back.  He insisted he would not take the money without the jacket.

We were trying to find a local seamstress who would take the job, but have had trouble doing so.  We then expanded the search, as, apparently, there is a labor shortage all over.  First they could not find the proper fur, then when we found the fur directly, the one person locally who knew about that kind of sewing wouldn't be back until the end of July.  The fabric and fur used requires a very specific type of stitching.  We finally found a specialty seamstress in ******* who could do the job and had the fur and the jacket overnighted to her.  She overnighted the jacket back to us last week.  We have spent at least $400 repairing the jacket.

This customer has lied repeatedly to our manager, always comes in when there is a crowd so he can make a scene, has criticized our manager for being loyal and not giving him our owner's home address, and has publicly lied about and libeled our business on social media.  He has claimed publicly that we are "holding" his clothes, which is not true.  Again, he wanted money and the clothing, which goes against our policy for repairing and replacing garments.  We are not holding his garment.  He has also doxxed our owner and manager on his ********* which has gotten repeated shares--a post where we were not tagged directly, so could not answer it immediately; as well as complained to you, the BBB, to disrepute our business and potentially put 14 people out of a job.

It is only in our best interest to make our customers happy if at all possible.  We have attempted to make this customer happy, but to no avail.

    Sincerely,
