    I went to this take 5 on 11/18/2022 at 11:06am. My car had its oil changed with Duramax full synthetic XLT. After this, I drove to Tampa, Fl. Little did I know, my oil was leaking the entire trip. I stopped at another take 5 in ***** on 11/19/22 around 11:00am because I noticed my car was driving strange and I saw a pool of oil in my driveway. The mechanics in ***** informed me that the wrong gasket was on used on my car and that they had fixed it. I drove back to ******** for work, and after a few weeks my car notified me that no oil was present in my car. I checked the dip stick and it was completely dry. I contacted the Take 5 in ********, they told me my oil pan was broken because of the stop being put in sideways. I called the take 5 in ***** and they said it was damaged before I brought in in to Tampa. I spoke to managers hope and **** ** ******** and they did not reach me in timely manner before I called my cars dealership and asked for advice. I was told at Toyota that my car is unsafe to drive because it was still leaking oil from the oil filter. I had to have the oil pan AND filter replaced because of the damages take 5 caused on my newer vehicle. They have not even reimbursed my oil change, and they are claiming that I cannot have any sort of compensation for damages because I was in the process of getting it repaired at Toyota. I contacted them on 12/8/22 and found out my oil pan needed to be replaced. They didn’t update me with what was happening until 12/10/22 at 4:00pm telling me that I shouldn’t have had my car repaired because they hadn’t approved of the repair. I’d like to have the DAMAGES paid for and the oil change refunded. I don’t want my whole repair at Toyota paid for, it is close to $730.. just the cost of the oil pan, filter, and the oil change.

    When this customer came in she did inform us that her car had been leaking oil in her driveway. We were also informed that she had taken the car to a take 5 in Florida and they replaced the gasket due to it being a cooper one not one with rubber on it. When we looked at the oil plug it was screwed in at an angle. We then checked her oil and there was nothing on the dip stick. We informed the customer of what we had found and that we were going to try and put another plug in and see if that will work. It however did not work and we had to put a pan saver plug in. When we realized this, we informed the customer and told her she did need to call the store in Florida that put that plug in. She then called back around 4:30pm and stated that the shop in Florida stated it was like that when it came in but there was no paperwork for it. So, we asked her to give us around 24 hours to call her back because we needed to get in touch with our shop manager and the district manager and it was already around 5pm on Friday. I assured the customer that her car was not leaking and that it would be safe to drive until we could get in touch with someone. Less than 24 hours later she called the shop phone and informed us that she was taking it to the dealership and the dealership told her it  was unsafe to drive. She stated there was nothing leaking from the car at the time. We asked her not to do that and that we were waiting on a phone call back from our distric manager. Less than 24 hours after that she called the shop phone again and informed us that her car was in the shop at the dealership and she wanted to know what we could do about it. We informed her that unfortunately because she took it to the dealership before we had a chance to do anything there is nothing, we can do to help her. Our warranty is on the bottom of every recipet and on the back in detal.

    I am rejecting this response because:

     

    the company did not offer to even refund my oil change or reimburse me for the damages THEY caused on my car.  At the very least, the oil change that I received from THIS business should be refunded because I had to have an ADDITIONAL oil change from Toyota.

    Take 5 oil change in ******** did not cause the damage stated in the complaint. As we explained to the customer upon arrival, the last Take 5 shop she went to caused the damage. We also explained that we were contacting upper management for all information from both shops and to give us some time. The customer took it upon themselves, to take it to Toyota and have the repairs and an extra oil change done. Even though they were told the customer we were contacting upper management for a solution. The customer gave us less than 24 hours to contact anyone from upper management before they took it to Toyota for repairs.
