On 10/31/2023 I was mailed a bill from Yates Astro. The amount they are seeking is $405.00. The only service I had done cost $195. When I asked a employee over the phone, I was told that the amount is going to cover two annual termite renewal. There is only one service shown on the bill. Will you help me figure out how to have them charge me the correct amount of money. I live and pay these bills alone.

I apologize for not responding, but I have not received anything on this matter from email or ** *******

I forwarded this email to our Dept. Manager to look into it.  Looking at the account I see that the consumer has an Annual Subterranean Termite Warranty that has been on the home at since it was built in 2017.  This retreat and repair coverage is for termite activity if anything is found.  This is a policy that continues the coverage as long as the annual renewal fee is paid.

According to the payment history on the account there were 2 renewal fee payments made in 2021 that paid the $185 due for 2020, and a $185 payment was made in 2022 that covered the renewal amount for 2021.  An invoice was sent in October 2022 for the $195 renewal fee for 2022, which was never paid, and another invoice sent in September 2023 for the $210 renewal fee that has not been paid.  The copy of the statement the consumer received is for these two unpaid renewal fees.

If the consumer does not wish to pay the outstanding balance, we can credit off the $405 balance and cancel the termite coverage on the property.  If the consumer would like to keep the coverage, she can contact ***** ****** at ************* and work out a payment plan to continue her warranty.

      Thank you,

For the past two years I keep getting a bill from Yates Astro that they had completed an annual termite inspection on my property. This was never authorized but yet they continue to bill me $215 for the past two years. I’ve called several times and disputed this bill and advised them I never authorize a termite inspection and to discontinue billing on this property. Again on October 1, 2022 an invoice was stuck on my door in the amount of $430 claiming they did an inspection but the gates were locked and no entry was possible for an inspection but they billed me anyway. I’m concerned that they will file a lien on my property.

On/around 5/1/2022 a representative from Yates-Astro termite pest control company knocked on our door stating he was here for an annual termite inspection. My husband told him we just moved in 9/2021 and did not setup any pest contract contracts. He said the previous owner must have had a contract and said since they had one in place this annual inspection was ALREADY paid for under contract. So, my husband let him inspect our house for termite damage since he was told someone had already paid for it. Then, a month later we got a bill in the mail for $205 for the renewal. We ignored it thinking it was a administrative mistake. A few more bills came so my husband called the office and spoke with a woman who told him that an inspection was done on 5/1/22 and he was responsible for paying for it. He relayed what the inspector told him and she was unmoved by the fact that he was lied to, had no intention of looking into for him and told him he was responsible for the bill. This is very poor business practice - I suppose my husband should have done more digging before letting this guy inspect, but we were still new to the area and didn't expect to get taken advantage of. Requested resolution: Yates - Astro voids this invoice as the cost of doing dirty business and we do not owe. Amount in question: $205 Date of "service": ******** ******* **** ******
