My truck would shut off & turn back on , i had it towed to Freightliner of Savannah 8/29/2024 I was told 8/30 They will do a diagnostic on my truck after running two hours of diagnostic they told me they would need an additional four hours to figure out the problem, but they couldn’t do it Monday 9/2/2024 Because of the holiday that they would be able to do it Tuesday 9/3/24. Tuesday came around they had not done anything to diagnostic the truck. It wasn’t until Monday 9/9/24 when they called me saying my truck was “ ready “ I asked him what the problem was and I was told they couldn’t figure out the problem, but my truck is now running which my truck has done this before cut off and turn back on. So after two hours of diagnostics, they wanted another four hours of diagnostics to figure out the problem which they could not figure out. When I went to pick up my truck, I asked him for the paperwork of every coat that showed up on my truck while running the diagnostics and they didn’t give it to me so It’s no telling if the diagnostic was really done . after speaking to a few other Mechanical shops, I was told what the problems could be with my truck. I’m just not understanding how the business where my truck Was made from cannot figure out the problem to my truck and I still had to come out $700 almost $800. All the time that my truck was sitting, I could’ve been running my truck to make money, but they took longer than a timeframe they gave me.

In reference to RO # ******* it appears that unit was here under company name MML Trucking. The unit arrived 8/29 around 2:30 PM. We are currently working on about a 3 week backlog of repairs. 1st tech punch was 8:50 on 8/30. This note was sent to the customer on 8/30 at 10:06 electronically. Approval Requested for the estimate version 1. Total $1,155.01.Found unit is not communicating properly with the pt-can modules. Checked fuses at pt-pdm good and installed test CPC with no change indicating underlying issue. Prepared diagnostic estimate. This would not resume until next week. Customer responded electronically on 8/30 at 3:37, The estimate was approved by MML TRUCKING - Freightliner of Savannah. My calendar reflects that we were closed 8/31-9/2 for the Labor Day holiday. My notes show the unit was completed 9/6 at 2:17, it appears the customer picked the unit up on 9/11. The customer notes would lead us to believe he is being billed 6 hours, that is what the estimate was for. Since only 4 hours were invested that is all the customer was bill for. Until this notification I was not made aware of any issues. Has the complaint of CEL-DEF-No start/no crank returned(as noted in the customer signed write up attached)? If so we would be more than willing to look at the unit again. ***** **********, Service Manager, Freightliner of Savannah.

I did not recieve any call from freightliner until 9/9/24 i did miss the call & returned the call when i woke up & was told my truck was ready & i asked what was the problem the guy from repairs his name was ***** then said he couldnt find in the notes what they found wrong with the truck but it was running now & he would call me back. When he returned my call i asked him if there was something that could be done for the bill since they didn’t figure out the problem he said he would see what he could do. I left to pick my truck up 9/10/24 arrived in georgia that night & picked up my truck 9/11/24. 9/11/24 ***** did say he was able to get the bill reduced to $776.05 but he couldnt do anymore then that. I was never told the whole six hours werent used i did sign off for them to complete the full 6 hours for $1,155 after them doing diagnostics for 2 hours & them saying they were not being able to find the problem. Their timeline was way off from what i was told. I could’ve had my truck towed else where with the possibility of them figuring out the problem & having me back on the road sooner. Instead my truck was sitting since 8/29/24 & i didnt get a call until 9/9/2024 . I will show phone records from my phone company if needed. Also i can see if there is a way i can have a recording of that phone call when i was told my truck was ready. I will be looking into that to see if it’s possible to better support my claim.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: freight liner of savannah has days that dont add up to the call history i have from them. I will be getting a full call history from them so its clear their lies aren't on the same page. I was charged for them to not find the problem to my truck. My truck would cut off and turn back on they let my truck sit until it would turn back on in all reality. I took my truck there to find out the problem to it not to leave out not knowing what is going on with my truck.

    Regards,

Thank you for reaching back out, I cannot see anything that the consumer has offered different from the original complaint. The consumer was billed under the estimate, additionally the offer still stands to revisit the issue if it has returned. Unfortunately I have not seen anything in the responses that acknowledge my statements.
