Their crew was working in my neighborhood for a water main break. The way they shut the water off caused a back flow through my PRV (pressure relief valve)causing enormous pressure through out my plumbing fixtures, luckily I was home and ran to turn the water off. However when I tried to turn it back on the pressure was 130 at the hose bib, I know how to measure this and I did it several times to make sure. I called the company and he, the owner said "we dont take responsibility for anything we do inside the home" I was left with a ruined PRV and no plumber to fix it for 5 days, I worried for the entire time that the pressure would build up and cause an explosion. I had to run my water for 5 days until I could get the plumber here. They ruined a perfectly good PRV and the owner could care less.

Unfortunately, we encounter homeowner complaints from time to time while working on the water main. We are honest and strive to be professional and maintain integrity on a daily basis. During emergency water main break repairs we always take care and consideration of the communities water service outage and the manor we isolate the leak for repairs, including the procedures we use in recharging the water main and air relief. But, we do not have any control over the existing conditions inside a home including; aged or faulty equipment, quality of previous workmanship or existing materials used.

We take pride in our craft and we do care about each and every customer. When a complaint comes through that is highly unlikely that we could have done anything to cause, we have to ask ourselves how we can justify paying for something that we didn't do. Was this an existing condition? Was it a timeline coincidence that the faulty equipment failed in the proximity of our work? Is the homeowner attempting to be advantageous of the situation? We want to do things right and in good faith, but we cannot afford to pay for damages we didn't cause and still maintain profitability or stay in business.
