    I bought a camper from Barry’s Camper sales aka Barry’s auto sales on June 17 2023. After getting it home my husband climbed up on top and realized the roof was in such disrepair that it needs to be replaced. I was the one who purchased it and I looked inside for water damage but didn’t see any. Otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it. The next day with a flashlight I found a small hint of water stains in the bathroom by the toilet. It was then that my husband climbed up on top and saw the damage. We called them immediately and they said there was no damage and that we must’ve done it on the way home and they have video proving the roof was fine. They won’t send the video. The damage is obviously old and after further investigation it’s more extensive than originally thought. I have pictures to show that there is no way that this could be new damage. Anyone with eyes could see that it’s old. I would like for them to either fix the roof or reimburse us for the roof. My husband is actually working on it today but it’s so extensive I’m afraid it will need a professional. I also bought an extended warranty and on top of repair and reimbursement for the roof I’d like to be reimbursed for that. If this is how they conduct business then I’m sure that the warranty will not be honored.

    The first 2 pictures are what we found originally. The last 3 pics are the damage my husband found after getting on top and trying to repair the damage. Today June 23rd 2023. We had it covered with a tarp all week but the wood is punky and stained and mildewed as you can see.

    I feel I was taken advantage of because I’m a senior citizen.

    No, I have also tried to contact them and they have become belligerent with me and hung up

     

    Are you satisfied with the company's efforts to resolve this matter?  

    No, they have not tried to resolve the situation. They will not return my calls

    We purchased a 2018 Forest River Blue Ridge 5th wheel camper on September 27, 2022. We received the camper that was delivered to our future campsite to be used as our full time home on October 8, 2022. We moved into this unit when our home sold on October 13, 2022. The front or bedroom a/c unit was not cooling and blowing hardly any air and my husband noticed a soft spot in the floor. Also when the camper was being set up, the awning arm support was broke. We were told by Barry that he runs them through the shop and it goes through a complete inspection before delivery. They had plenty of time to get this done from the day we purchased it, to the time it was actually delivered. We called Barry’s Camper Sales on Monday, October 17th and spoke to Barry and told him the issues we were having. He said that someone would be out by the end of the week. That didn’t happen and no one called us back. Since moving in, my wife’s allergies have been horrible, so I thought since it was a used camper that someone had a cat or had a dog with dander and it was in the carpet. So we decided to take out the carpet. We purchased vinyl floors on October 26, 2022, went home and started to remove the flooring. We had found a second soft spot by the stairs going to the living room so we were going to change the kitchen and living room so the floors would match. When we started to remove the flooring, the smell had almost knocked us down. What looks like black mold is growing under the current vinyl floor and under the carpet and stairs. We called Barry’s, no answer, so we sent a text with pictures explaining what we found. Taylen at Barry’s called and said they were behind and didn’t know when they could come out. We explained this was our home and we’re living in this mold. I have decided to file this as protection showing we have tried to resolve this. We also purchased an extended warranty from them. Paid full price and the purchased the extended warranty.
