After purchasing and receiving a camera through Ricoh US' online storefront, I noticed some minor defects and requested an RMA, per their return instructions. I received one email asking for a photo of one of the defects (which I sent same day) but haven't heard back since (2+ weeks as of this review). Sending an additional email did not prompt a response and no one was available at the number provided for web orders or responded to the message left. This is unfortunate because the US branch of Ricoh Imaging requires that returns take place within 30 days of purchase and that the customer must pay for return shipping/insurance in the first place. The longer they do not respond, the more shipping costs the customer and less likely that a return will be processed within their window. This practice is not only poor customer service but also highly antagonistic to ************ this point, I'm keeping the camera (flaws and all) as I no longer want to deal with the company. I will not be buying through Ricoh's online store again.

Very sorry to hear about this experience. Please note that Ricoh Imaging is not part of Ricoh USA and this review should be directed towards them. We did however forward this to Ricoh Imaging and have been told they followed up with the customer via email.Again, please redirect this review to the correct company.

We bought a Ricoh SP C840 dn color printer and paid nearly $3,000.00 for it. It is an excellent printer; however, after 3 years, I received an error message and tried to get it repaired. When I called Ricoh, they gave me a number to a repair company that is located in ******** and only services ******** area. I'm in **************, so I called back and told them the mistake. They said my printer belonged to another company which was in that area. I told them the printer was NEW when we bought it and it did not belong to that company, which I could not even find on the internet so, they said I needed to update the account. It took a week to get the account updated. According to them, I bought the company from a distributor, and they had no way of knowing that it had been sold. After getting an email that my account had been set up with the correct name, I tried to request service. Again, they gave me the ******** number. I had to speak to 3 different people and was on the line over an hour. They tried to give me that number two more times during the process before they finally asked me where was the company located from which I bought the printer. That was Georgia and it is 3 hours from me. They finally said they would have a technician call me. I still have not received the call. This is too much money to pay for a printer and then cannot get it serviced. While they make good printers, I would not advise anyone to purchase a Ricoh printer. I would take an act of God to get any service and then I'm not sure you would get any.

Ricoh is the most corrupt business I have ever dealt with. We paid nearly $3000 for service/supply on our 2 copiers and they refuse to provide toner or service on our machines because they are trying to FORCE us to buy overpriced service on our 2 ancient fax machines that we have no contract on with Ricoh. With customer service like this you'd be better off to go anywhere else to do business as the company is corrupt to the core and downright thieves in this matter as we paid and they refuse to service.
