    We used Bekins and their ******* franchise Sunrise Moving to move from ******* to the DC area in late June, and we had an overall terrible experience with ******/Sunrise Moving. The initial communication with ******/Sunrise was great and they were responsive. On the actual packing days, the movers who packed and loaded the truck in ******* were awesome, they came on-time and packed our home in a quick and efficient manner.Our nightmare with ******/Sunrise began the day our home was being packed. Our moving coordinator failed to coordinate moving in with the condo complex we moved to in the DC area, so we handled coordination/moving with the ** condo complex and Bekins/Sunrise. We received conflicting information regarding our move from Sunrise and Bekins corporate and each party blamed the other for the miscommunication, and again had to handle communication between both parties, rather than our moving coordinator handling the communication. Our moving coordinator was also unresponsive when we were driving up to **; even the moving truck driver had issues reaching our moving coordinator.In addition to the lack of communication, we were initially charged approximately $7500-8500 to move a 1 BD condo to **, but the final bill ended up being approx. $5500, so that's good. Even though Sunrise/Bekins use a "cost-not to exceed" estimate, we realized late in the game when the Sunrise movers were packing our belongings that the "cost-not to exceed" estimate is basically a marketing gimmick, and they will send updated contracts for the customer to sign if any small thing changes. I won't fault Sunrise for the nightmare when our goods were delivered to our DC-area condo since delivery was *****'s responsibility, but needless to say this move was a disaster, and our worst move. This will be our last time using Bekins or any of their regional franchises.
