I am currently renting a home through The Herndon Realty, and they have neglected my home repairs since I moved in in 7/2023. I have several work orders placed that have not been addressed, and some that they have said are complete were never even done.. Hurricane ****** came last year and they took almost a month to come and remove the black mold in the ceiling. They turned away the Maid Valet company that stated there was mold in my chimney wall, and never addressed the mold there. My daughter has been in respiratory therapy ever since and the previous broker, ******* ******, stated my daughter would be just fine! Then proceeded to call ***** **. Now, Hurricane ****** came in late September, and no one has come to check out the home. I placed the work order for the storm damage on 10/16 due to no service or power and roads being blocked city wide so it was unsafe to access the rental company. I was waiting for **** initially, but they denied an inspection twice, and the renters insurance covered nothing. Now, as of 11/6, my ceiling has a leak from roof damage from the storm because no one came to check it out or place a tarp on the roof. 11/7 we bought a ladder and placed a tarp over where it was leaking, or so we thought. I called **** again 11/7 and they finally agreed to request an inspection. 11/7 I called the rental company again and the lay stated she would call back. Never called. I called again 11/8 and finally got through to the new broker ******* (sc). She stated she would call the property owner to see if anything could be done regarding the rent, contacted a roofing company and they came out same day to place a tarp where we had already done it and an addtl tarp. This place is unlivable and there is mold everywhere. Financially Im beat from trying to survive and not be in this house for health concerns. Now the ceiling is continuing to fall in and black mold and droppings have been exposed due to their neglect. I have no funds to go anywhere else.

    Business Response

Please be advised our area has had historical damages with the last 2 hurricanes (****** and ******).  ****** being the most recent with some winds being recorded as high as 138 MPH.  *********************** Company alone has filed a little over 300 damage claims for our Landlords attributed directly to ****** which hit our area on September 27, 2024.  As you can imagine the storm damage has literally been off the charts.  Much time was required to get Insurance Adjusters on site as well as contractors assigned to so many jobs in our area.

Per the Tenant's request the Owner/Landlord has agreed to release her from her lease subject to a Move Out Inspection to be completed prior to her vacate date of November 29th.  Our Property Manager spoke with the Tenant to alert her that her request has been granted and happily agreed to vacate the property on November 29th.
