    The new roof that Honest Abe did in June 2023, which I am still paying for is leaking. I would like it repaired and my warranty honored.

    We had Honest Abe fix our roof that was damaged. Our insurance policy was going to cover a portion of the roof and just needed information regarding the materials used. Honest Abe is still giving my insurance company the runaround and has not been answering our calls or emails for over a month and a half now. Furthermore, one of the guys who came and worked on our roof just came by and said that he and his guys were subcontracted by Honest Abe and they have yet to be paid for the services they provided. They are threatening to place a lien on our property if they do not receive payment, however, we have already paid Honest Abe the money but it seems they have not paid their subcontractors yet. I don't know what is going on but these practices seem extremely dishonest and I would like a resolution ASAP as to avoid a lien being placed on our home and to finally be able to get this insurance claim closed. If a lien is placed on out property I will need Honest Abe to refund what we already have spent.

    I signed a contract on 8 Feb 2023 for a standing seam metal roof. I explained how I didn't want the siding cut then later filled in. I wanted the siding pulled off and reinstalled replacing any of the cedar boards that needed replaced. Also, there was carpenter bee damage on some of the soffit and trim boards that was to be replaced. Also cedar. There were some soft spots where the roof had been leaking that was to be repaired. And gutters installed on the entire back of the house as well as on the front by the carport. The price was $57,689.31 with a $14422.33 deposit that I paid. By mid April work had not started so I began asking for a refund. We agreed on a $5000 discount due to the delays. When work was nearly complete (May) I showed up to check on the progress. The siding had been cut like I requested they not do. Also the trim to fill where the siding was cut as well as the soffit boards and the trim was pressure treated instead of cedar. In the attic I found a soft spot that had not been fixed. Metal is on by now. Also there was trash everywhere around where the dumpster was, including nails. Apparently there were a lot of holes in the large dumpster. I contacted them and they came out and inspected. They agreed the job was substandard and agreed in writing to fix the discrepancies but demanded payment. When I got the list of discrepancies, I paid the balance to avoid a lien being put on my property. I didn't hear anything from them until the end of June when they sent me a letter of completion. I contacted them immediately stating the job WAS NOT complete. They called me back and said it was a mistake and they would be out to fix the issues. In the past couple of weeks I've contacted them via email a couple of times but it seems they have written me off.

    Had an inspection done by the company I went through a walkthrough in my attic with an Honest Abe representative pointing out where all the rotten wood was. The company noted where existing damage was and promised me that all rotten wood would be replaced during installation. I did a walkthrough after installation and noticed some of the existing rotted wood was not replaced. I’ve contacted Honest Abe several times and they finally had someone come out to take a look at the rotted wood that was not replaced and I was told that they would fix the problem. It was over a week and I didn’t hear anything so I contacted them again and was told the one who could take care of the situation was out of town. So I waited until he returned and contacted them again. I was told someone would contact me on several occasions and no one has tried to fix the situation. The company is ignoring me. I can only get in contact with the receptionist ******** but she cannot force the others to do their job. On the agreement that was signed there is a 365 roof assurance guarantee. It states “If, after the first 365 days, you are not completely satisfied with the customer service or the performance of the roof, we will correct the problem.” The company has not tried to resolve the issue at this point.
