I am rejecting this response because: First off I am not asking for $15,000. The cabinets were left unfinished and unsecured, and the colors mismatched. The amount owed to Just Another Carpenter was $3,625,00, however the amount needed to get the job done is $8,000.00 (the lower of the 2 estimates provided). The difference now being $4,375.00. Plus the amount of $930.17 which was purchased from my pocket which you stated you would return to me which was never returned. This $930.17 was used to purchase handles for the cabinets, kitchen faucet, kitchen sink and backsplash. Therefore the total amount I am seeking from Just Another Carpenter is $5,305.17. (Attached are pictures as to the way the cabinets are left in my home and also 2 estimates to get the kitchen cabinets in proper order)

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting the request for additional payment in relation to the carpentry project. We should not be responsible for the client paying  more for the cabinetry elsewhere. The agreed-upon amount for demo and installation of new cabinets, which was $5016 in total. With 50% of the work completed to satisfaction, the remaining value is $2500. The excess cost of the cabinetry, exceeding $3000, should be balanced out by the remaining work value that has been completed Therefore, we will not accept any additional charges beyond the original agreement."
