I filed another complaint regarding ******** which summarizes the start of the issue. I was told from Allstate and American Leak Detection that ******** pays them. I received a call in August (incident was in February) that I owed a balance. I explained that I was told by both parties All state was paying. I had specifically asked both parties if I need to pay and was no told no. ****** ***** explained allstate said they sent me the money to pay originally. I was never told this or I would have paid them immediately. I also explained that 6 months after the original is payment to tell me that Im about to go to collections is not acceptable. She contacted all state and they refused to pay. That's when I was finally able to get in contact with them in October through her communication via email. I was passed to another agent who assured me it would get addressed. I received a voicemail from ****** saying they sent more money and it was being processed so I assumed the payment was taken care of. I got a text Saturday December 28th saying my account was now in collections with no contact between the Voicemail on October 10th and the text on 12/28 stating that I still owed a balance. I have provided a screenshot of the voicemail text. It's confusing to read but the last few sentences clearly state they sent more money and the payment is processed. I also have the emails from ****** to ***** regarding the communication between Allstate and American leak detection. I can forward them to a specific email if needed.

****************** hired American Leak Detection to do the detection and Allstate was the billable party for the detection. ****************** issued payment for the detection to the insured, Ms. ********** *****, instead of to American Leak Detection. Ms. ***** has been notified by both American Leak Detection and ****************** that she received the money in error and it belongs to American Leak Detection. ******** have been offered a payment plan to make payments to American Leak Detection.

I am rejecting this response because I was not even informed about owing anything until 6 months after the fact after asking multiple times to both companies if I was required to pay them and was repeatedly told no. I understand they offered a payment plan, however, waiting 6 months after the fact to inform a customer that there was an error is not acceptable. All state never contacted me at all to inform me of this. Also, if you review the photo of the voicemail left by American Leak Detection after dealing with this for months, it clearly states that All state had given them money and the payment was being processed. I was never contacted again about that until the day before Christmas (10/10 was when the voicemail was left) and it was only a text saying the payment has gone to collections. You cannot tell a customer that they are not responsible for a payment and then wait until 6 months later to say that now they are responsible to pay. The lack of communication from both companies in a timely an appropriate fashion was non-existent. I understand there was communication 6 months later with American Leak Detection, but to reiterate, both companies told me I was not responsible. If the company makes an error, they should notify the customer immediately and that did not happen. The company messed up so they should be responsible for the payment. I even requested an itemized statement in March (received in April) and it did not state anywhere on there that they had paid me money that was to be allocated to a vendor.

      Sincerely,

      ********* *****

I contacted American Leak in the fall of 2022 due to a potential leak in my pool. I paid them a leak inspection fee around $450 and they suggested a skimmer throat repair for a total of $680 more. After a few scheduling issues, they finally came out in February 2023 to do the repairs. Unsuspecting to me, the repairs never seemed to work as I discovered an active leak upon receiving the first water department bill in October 2023, which was $1200. When I called American Leak, their response was that the warranty had expired and they were going to charge me another $450 for the inspection and then charge me again for subsequent repairs. I explained that I would have not known about the leak because my pool has an auto filler and therefore the water bill was the only indication. Water bills lag a few months as well as I had a credit with the water department from the original leak. Therefore, I can confidently say that the leak occurred during the warranty period even though I was unaware at the time. Long story short, I gave them a chance to make this right but they have been avoiding me for at least a month after several attempted calls and emails. Now I am having to pay another company $1200 more to fix the issue. I am requesting a refund for the repair portion of what I paid them as the repairs did not work. In addition, I would like for the company to be more transparent about the 3 month warranty period as that is an extremely short period of time to determine if a leak is persisting. I am disappointed in the way they have handled the issue since bringing it up to them more than 4 months ago.

The repairs for the swimming pool were completed on February 8, 2023 and we did not hear from the customer until October 31, 2023 that the pool was leaking. The warranty on the skimmer throat repair is 3 months and we were not notified that the pool lost water until 8 months after the repair had been completed. A detection was scheduled by the homeowner for November 2023, and cancelled by the homeowner because they wanted to monitor the pool. We did not hear back from the customer for another 2 months. It is ********************** Leak *********************** policy to do a detection prior to doing any repairs and the customer was told that we would be willing to skip the detection and come out to do repairs at the skimmer throat repair cost of $265.00 + Materials (EACH). The customer declined having us do any additional repairs. There is no reimbursement because American Leak Detection was not notified until almost 9 months after the repairs had been completed and the warranty on the repairs is 3 months.

American Leak Detection was not notified within the warranty window that the pool was leaking. It was 8 months after the original repair was made that the customer contacted the company. The repair is no longer under warranty.

An inspector from this company was hired was in July due to a claim with my home insurance company. During the inspection an exterior pipe was broken by the inspector. I initially attempted to get someone to fix for me because the inspector told me it was an easy fix. After researching we realized it was not something we could fix. I called the manager who asked us to get someone to fix it and send them the bill and we would receive reimbursement. When I could finally afford to have someone fix it I sent them the invoice and the manager did not ************* but asked another employee to tell me the check was sent. I waited almost 3 weeks to follow up and no one gave me an update. I called liberty mutual for help and they were told a new check would be sent out last Friday. As of today 6 days after no check has been received for the damage or a call from the manager to or email updating me.
