    Location was great but the house was not maintained properly. The owner claimed its ****** or the season which is false. Residents and home owners know to spray regularly especially for a rental property. The owner did not spray for what was known. We at times had to get rid of ***** millipedes a night and they would crawl into our beds. We also dealt with dozens of mice, c*** roaches, termites and centipedes while there. The owner dropped off spray for us to spray and provided sticky traps for the mice. The doors and screens are aged and do not seal properly allowing free access to insects, rodents and lizards to enter the home. We left with two weeks left at the location due to the circumstances and the owner refuses to refund our two weeks.

    Aloha *****,I am very sorry that you had this experience at our house, and I really hoped you could have had a wonderful Hawaiian stay like the rest of our previous guests. Unfortunately, you had a lease with me and we cant break the lease suddenly without us properly assessing the situation. I am sorry this fell during the time of my vacation. Normally, if a tenant has an issue, we can have professionals come and do the spraying/pest control. I know that you had mentioned previously that it was an issue, and we tried some small measures to control it. However, you didnt inform me on how bad it was, or give some time for the sprays to start working. We have used the sprays in the past and it has been very effective within a day or so. What we would have done, if you had expressed this problem to be unlivable, I would have offered a 3 night stay elsewhere, while we sprayed and did the professional pest control. Since you moved out without discussing or allowing me to manage the situation, its not reasonable to request a refund. I can give you a reimbursement of the 3 nights that I would have covered, which amounts to $600. Very sorry again for your experience. What you described definitely sounds like more than what we usually have, but again we do have policies on how to try to manage it in these rare cases. I would of sprayed for you, but you said you were going to do it. You didnt even try to use it!!! This works in a day and you would not even had anymore problems.

    This is false as I did spray with what you provided. I also sprayed several times with my own products that I purchased. Assess the bottle, and you will have seen that. Your lack of maintenance to the house is what caused the issue. Your previous guest was years ago, and you didn't maintain your home during the pandemic. In no situation was it okay for you to leave your home in that condition. You saw pictures which I have on our text and told you from the start there were issues. If your tenant had bugs constantly crawling on them, no one in their right mind would stay. We tried, and I finally had enough. You had known about the issues since May and other monthly texts about it. You were present at the house several times and also saw all the traps and the amount we were dealing with. We only asked for two weeks refund, which was a kind offer and not the entire thing. You don't properly take care of your home. The doors and screens should have been replaced years ago, and the house should of had scheduled spraying. No one that rents in ****** doesn't regularly takes measures for insects and rodents. You knew better, and you are trying to blame your tenant for what you did not provide.
