      My complaint is about the destination company, Royal Hawaiian Movers. They called and said our items had already been here "for like five days, I meant to call you earlier, but I forgot. So you should have picked them up today" quoting the staff from Royal Hawaiian Movers. We had had no contact from any company about where our goods were, other than the initial pickup on April 17. Royal Hawaiian said we refused the three days they offered for delivery, the first one was that day of contact May 14, the second was the following morning, May 15. They also offered May 24, which I did refuse because I was unavailable. They then sent a notice saying our items were going into storage and we would be charged. They did not state where or give an address of where the items were being stored. They decided that their next available time to deliver would be May 29, which I agreed to. Never heard a word from them, so I showed up to facilitate the delivery in their office on the 29th, and they said they were not released yet. My bill had been paid in full prior to all of this. They then waited the until late in the day, and charged a random sum to release my items, holding them hostage. They were also going to charge me more to deliver to the delivery address, which was actually across the street from their office, even though the contract was door to door. I tried to avoid this by saying that I would just pickup the items, since it was so late in the day and to speed up the process. They then told me where the storage container was, I showed up, they had no staff there, and would not help me unload the container which was up five feet in the air. One guy from their company showed up in a truck doing other things so I asked him, he called the office, and they told him not to help us.

      I apologize on behalf of Royal Hawaiian for not meeting ******************** expectations. The initial confusion on the availability of ******************** household goods stem from the shipment being under a different name (her mother's, I believe). We didn't realize that the "******" container had actually arrived.  We did offer delivery but as *************** stated, she was not able to accept at that time.  At that point, storage charges would occur.

      The additional charges associated from the 5/29 delivery are the result of limited access in the storage facility.  ******************* items were in a shipping container which the storage facility will not allow on their property. In order for us to deliver to the storage facility, the items had to be removed from the container, loaded into a smaller box truck, and then delivered to the storage unit. ******************* original move estimate was priced based on spotting the container at the residence/final destination and unloading directly into a home.

      At this point, *************** requested access to her container so that she could unload the items herself. While there was another employee in the container yard where her items were located, he is not a mover and was unable to help her with her items.  The employee did call the office because *************** requested the use of a ramp and some other equipment, which we were not able to provide.   

      While we did explain the above to *************** at multiple points during her visit to the office and phone calls, it's clear we did not do a good enough to making it clear to her.  I apologize for that.  This is the first I am hearing about this complaint.  I welcome a call form ***************.

      The Office:1. Handled my request in a timely and courteous manner.2. Were very helpful with my lost key concerns.The moving men were:1. on time,2. courteous, and 3.not a thing was broken! I was extremely pleased with my experience!!
