10/24: Dropped scooter off at Kona Scooters (KS) for repair. Paid a $50 deposit against repair work.11/24: **** at KS related a few things they were going to try to fix my scooter. I agreed to a $500 cap on the repairs. **** said they would be in touch.12/24: On 12/5/24 called KS. **** related that have not fixed it yet, but it would be addressed when they could -- they were backed up. Said he understood the $500 cap and that any work completed on misdiagnosed problems would not be passed on to the consumer. 1/25: On 1/25/25 received a call from **** **********, owner of **. He was angry and confrontational. Said that they have been trying to reach me and I have been ignoring calls. Said that they have assessed thousands of dollars in storage fees. Said they will put a lien on scooter.I had not receive any calls or messages. When I asked for documentation of their outgoing calls, I was rebuffed. I have requested call logs from my provider. The call ended when I agreed, against my better judgment, to resolve the matter in person. On 1/28/25, I went to KS to try and resolve the situation. I was concerned for my safety, so I decided to record the encounter on my ******** soon as **** ********** realized who I was, he became confrontational and angry.Asked to see my scooter. He declined. Asked to see the phone logs. He declined. Asked to see documentation of work performed. He declined. He said he would put a lien on my scooter for thousands in storage fees. He berated and swore at me the entire time. I felt afraid. I felt he would likely hit me if the encounter continued. He then said he would be throwing me out of the store. I left.I was left scared and shaking.I believe he either mistook me and my scooter for another customer, or they intend to steal the scooter. None of the incidents they mentioned were are at familiar, and, since I couldn't see their call log, scope of work, or get a word in, I couldn't really investigate this belief.
