On 08/17/2022 i took an order signed by **************** for an xray to Queens hospital.Radiology Associates **** Dr ********** read the xray and billed my insurance with out my dr. name listed as ordering dr. this claim was denied. i reached out to my insurance in 09/2023 and they reached out to Radiology A** and requested they resubmit, but they did not. Hmsa requested again 01 11/8/23, 5/31/23 & 6/7/23. as of yet they have not rebilled but instead sent me to collections on a bill that was clearly there error. It is not mine nor my insurance companies job to tell them the rules of billing. Hmsa has a contract covering this service and I should not have to be chasing them down to properly follow the laws governing medical billing. clearly i did not show up there and randomly request a service with out a physician's order and **************** is listed as the ordering Dr on the radiology report. they billed it with *********** as the ordering Dr which is not allowed per Hmsa. this is a simple fix, but they have turned it into a huge hassle on my end, when i did nothing wrong. I also feel this was done on purpose as a way to get a larger fee, because after all who wouldn't just pay the $50 they are requesting to keep from going to collections. This seems like extortion honestly
