This company was hired by my moving company to inspect my Sleep Number bed that was damaged during the move. The inspection was conducted on 10 May 2025 (report attached). The inspection report contains the following "*Shipper states this item was damaged a bit in a previous move; shipper states things were repaired, however he wasnt specific on what was damaged and repaired at that time." which follows the section of the report on the mattress. I never made any statement concerning damage to the mattress. I did comment on damage made during a previous move to the bedframe that was repaired by Sleep Number after that ******* addition, this company provided the moving company with a quote for mattress replacement from the Sleep Number website (quote attached). ****** and ****** are exempt from website pricing and all quotes must be generated by a store in that state.Based on these two issues, my moving company is refusing to pay full replacement cost for my mattress. I contacted Restoration Furniture Repair to discuss this and was told to contact the moving company. When I explained that I already did, ****** told me to send questions via email (which I have). I expect Restoration Furniture Repairs to amend the original report and provide my moving company with an accurate quote from the on-island store (quote attached)

      Business Response

It is true we were hired by the *** to perform an inspection on the claimed items in this shippers move.  However it is false to accuse us of providing said reimbursement quote.  We did not in fact submit a quote for this shippers mattress.  The quote and screenshot he received was from the TSP (they emailed stating they were the ones who found that quote and emailed it to Mr. ********  We did tell Mr. ****** this, and he can ask them again if he would like to verify this.

Also the shipper stated his item (the bed which includes a frame and mattress) was damaged in a previous move and was repaired previously.

We stated at the end of our report exactly what he told us and also stated he didnt designate if it was the mattress or the frame that received said damage.  Thus we were simply restating what he told us via phone and then again in person.

Shipper believed it was our fault that the *** gave him a lower offer for reimbursement that he felt he was entitled to; however that isnt our fault.  They have more documentation to substantiate their findings above and beyond what we had or know.  They look at the pre existing notes from origin, normal wear and tear, claims history with this shippers move, and more.

Thus to put the blame on us is incorrect and unwarranted.  He needs to direct his issue with the *** and then he can transfer his claim to the *** (military claims office) should he desire to.

While Mr. ****** wants us to amend the report,  the *** who hired us told us not to.  We were hired by them and thus need to abide by what they say.  They are the experts.  They said Mr. ****** should not be contacting us at all but rather if he is unhappy with his settlement, he should transfer his claim to the ***.  We do not make any determinations at all but rather inspect items and share our factual findings in a report to the TSP.  They then make determinations and find replacement quotes for items - that is not our job and we dont do that.

      Thank you very much,

      Restoration Furniture Repair
