      We pre paid $7,743.70 dollars, includes taxes and $200 cleaning costs. We stayed at this same unit January 2022 and notified Maui Condo and Home about the issues with unit C-608 at ***** Akahi condo complex. We rented through Mayi Condo and Home. We notified them a year ago regarding a broken microwave above the gas range. When we arrived this year January 11, 2023, we found a note on the very same microwave stating that it was broken and not to use it. There was also a note taped to the cupboard door to the left of the broken microwave stating that the door was broken and if youd like us to fix it, let us know.They knew it was broken and did not repair it prior to our arrival and after taking our money. The gas range is malfunctioning. The right front gas burner ticks on the left burner when turning on and the right burner. Very concerning. Cookware stained and disgusting. Cabinets stank and were dirty, we had to clean. There is a rug in the living room that obviously has never been cleaned. Hair and filth stuck in it and under it. Glass slat missing from lanai window. Padding on chairs severely ripped. Large quantities of hair found in corners of bathroom floor. Top of baseboards filthy. Air vent in bathroom caked with dirt. Absolutely disgusting. Toilet paper holder broken. Chain to ceiling fan above bed covered in dirt. We found a rock and sand left in the dryer, lint filter full of lint. We contacted Maui Condo and Home and were met with excuses. ******* and ****

      Attached is response letter to compliant, attached response will also be emailed to the guest directly at the email address provided. A refund was previously offered and accepted by the guests 2/2/23 in the amount of $234.84. Maui Condo was not aware the guest remained dissatisfied until it received the BBB compliant which was filed the same day as the conversation and refund processed. An additional credit is being provided and processed in the amount of $502.43 for a total refund in the of $737.26 10% of the original room and tax payment. Maui Condo has reached out to the owner of the unit regarding the unit concerns to be addressed and corrective action will be taken. Mahalo

      The resolution proposed is unacceptable. 
      We have talked to long time local residents who we have known for decades. We showed them all the issues. 
      They, as we were appalled by the situation. 
      Also, the ladies spoken to via phone conversation blatantly lied to my wife stating 
      that 
      1. if we had notified them right away, they would have fixed everything.
      A minute later she said
      2. Well were on an island and its winter, we cant always get supplies.


      Which is it??


      This unit has not been cleaned at all in over a full year. 


      Either Maui Condo and Home is defrauding the owner, or the owner and Maui Condo and Home are deceiving anyone who would book and fully pay in advance for the unmaintained unit. 


      We believe a full and complete return of all our money is the correct resolution. 


      Also, we have notified the Hawaiian health inspector of the problem. The malfunctioning gas range and the filthy air vent, the disgusting hair filled rug


      We have more photos and videos if necessary.


      Instead of returning our cleaning fee, I suggest they keep the cleaning fee, actually clean this unit, and return all other moneys. 


      It is not our responsibility to babysit a condo while it is being cleaned and repaired during our vacation.
