I rented a storage unit through Altoona Park Storage from approximately October 2020 to May 2022. On January 2nd 2023 my checking account received a withdrawal of $90.95 by Altoona Park Storage. My contract with them had concluded May of 2022, and they did not have permission to withdraw that money from my account. I contacted ****, the manager, via phone, who requested proof of the withdrawal. I contacted my bank, who provided a digital copy of the transaction. I sent the copy of the transaction to **** who claims they did not receive any money from my card on that date. I spoke with my bank who verified the transaction did occur and the money was transported to Altoona Park Storage. When I informed **** of this, he stopped responding to me. Back in December of 2021, Altoona Park Storage double charged me twice. On December 1st 2021, TWO payments of $80.25 were withdrawn from my bank account, and again on December 31st 2021, TWO payments of $80.25 were withdrawn from my bank account. When I attempted to bring this to Clays attention (at that time), he avoided my multiple phone calls and voicemails. Eventually when I informed ****, via text, that I would no longer require my storage unit, he responded. **** eventually emailed me a copy of a spreadsheet stating they did not have record of the double charges, even though I had proof from my bank. **** was unable to read/understand the spreadsheet, I had to explain the spreadsheet to him. When I turned in the keys to the storage unit in May 2022, I brought the double charges to Clays attention again. He claimed he would look into it. I never heard back from him. I let it go on account of no longer having a contact with Altoona Park Storage, taking the loss of money. However the recent transaction indicates the irresponsible handing of their clients information, and possible theft due to not having permission to withdraw the $90.95 from my bank account.
