  I needed a handyman for a list of odds and ends to be done. I called DK3J, he showed me an estimate on his phone =/- $1580, I don't remember the exact amount nor did I see a breakdown of what the specific jobs would cost. I was shocked at first, but then I thought he seems like a nice guy so for everything I needed done, maybe that is reasonable. He said I can do some of these today, so I agreed to his estimate. He was here for about 7 hours and did the following: replaced the ball /spring door latches on 4 sets of doors, replaced the old ceiling fan/light with a new one I had, painted 2 support poles and front board on deck, rehung 2 outside light fixtures, and put some type of cement compound between(and on) the front patio stones. Then that night I received an email with an invoice for $1591.09, followed by another email giving me an estimate for the rest of the work I had listed. When I txt and questioned the cost, I was told you agreed to the estimate. I went out to look at the front patio, and was very upset to see concrete smeared over much of the stone work. When I txt a picture of it to them, they told me to run a hose over, and to use a wire brush. They offered to come and clean it up, but I was so disgusted with the mess I didn't want to have them back, but after over 6 hours of trying to clean it up myself, I did let him come back and correct it. He did and spent about 2 hrs and got most of it cleaned up.So: my review in a nutshell:Seemed like a nice guy, and the communication (except for no detail on the bid) was good.The price for what he did -- I blame myself for being ignorant and giving him the go ahead without realizing that was NOT a bid for everything I had on my list. I paid 4X what other experienced people (I have asked 5 that do construction and handyman services) would have charged.I hope others will learn from my mistake. $1591.09, 7 hrs for items not requiring a high skill lever, I cannot convey my amount of displeasure.

It is disappointing to hear that you have not valued the items completed as "requiring a high skill level", as we would disagree. We do take great pride in all our work, from the very small fixes to large projects that we tackle.  While your main concern was the cost, we are most concerned with the quality of work we provide to all our customers.  

  We do wish you and your family well and hope that the many other projects you are working on in your home turn out great!
