We found Chip through a booth at the ********** Fair in August of 2021 We reached out to Chip in September 2021 to provide an estimate for windows, siding, door installation and a few other improvements to our property at *************************** in *******.After meeting with **** and his ***************************, we received a quote in the area of $99,000 for all of the work to be completed. As we had just lost everything that we owned in a move from ***** back to our home in ****, we did not have the ability to cover the entire scope of work and opted to only proceed with the window installation as it was around $24,000 Chip agreed to purchase the window out of pocket (supposedly) while I secured financing In early April I was able to secure financing for the entirety of the project cost On or about 4/26/22 Chip was given a check for the entirety of the project cost and was deposited on 4/27/22 Chip picked up doors that were order and paid for outside of the contract on 6/20 and 7/1 Chip stopped responding to phone calls and text messages on 7/7/22 I have had no contact with ************************* since 7/1/22 Legacy Siding and Windows previously claimed to be accredited by the BBB on their website, they are not.I also found out today that **** did not renew his insurance with ***************************************************** in July of this year.Initial Complaint

I contracted for new windows and house painting on October 2021. I paid him a payment of $8000. ************************* stated I would be the first job in the spring. In the spring of 2022 I contacted him. He stated they would be here soon. Now I have left over 10 messages on his phone but he has not answered or returned my calls. I just want my money back. It is now September. I am 73 years old and feel that he has taken advantage of me. I am not sure how to upload a supporting doc. I have a receipt attached to an email.Initial Complaint

On 9-23-21 we signed a contract with Legacy to get an agreed amount of work done. The work included siding, gutters, 2 bathrooms, rebuilding a front porch and moving a window and garage doors. The first agreed amount was $43k- which was bumped up to $54k due to unforseen complications with the first bathroom not covered by the contract. The contract stated 50% down and additional increments as the work was completed. They did about 90% of the work on one of the bathrooms in 2021. They said there were issues getting supplies in to finish it up. While they were waiting for the remaining items to get in for the first bathroom they were going to start on the porch. The first hindrance was because they were waiting for the beginning of the next year (2022), then they were waiting for a cold weather permit. Then they were waiting for the ground to thaw. The many texts, phone calls and face to face visits from Chip got more and more sporadic until eventually he stopped answering our calls and texts. The last time he responded to a text was March 6th. Then about a week later he came to our house and promised they would be starting the following Monday which would have been around the last week of March And that they would be done by ***. No one showed up for weeks, and after repeatedly calling him with no answer, the last phone call we have on record was ***** 9th.The numbers breakdown: The first 50% of the work on the contract was a check for $21,840 banked on 10-05-21. The agreed upon quick fix for the first bathroom ended up being a major project and we agreed upon an additonal $11,000. We paid the first $6,000 with a check banked on 10-27-21. And when they finished most of the work for the bathroom we wrote them a check for $5,000 banked on 12-23-21. At this point we do not want them to complete the job, as the work previously completed was substandard at best, and we no longer trust them in our home. September 2021 I had entered an agreement with Legacy Siding and Windows for ****** to replace ************, add a concrete wrap around, take eyebrows off my front and back of the house, add a two car attached garage, a composite staircase, new gutters, facia, soffit, 3 east side windows, trim, and siding. The concrete was put in before thanksgiving and all seemed to be going smooth. Then in March, a few walls were framed for the garage and a stop work order was issued. They opened an overhang while attaching it and left it that way. A Raccoon had babies in the addition ceiling, getting in through the opening, and eventually crashing through the drywall into the office. I have a large hole in my ceiling but got the animals out. The ceiling hasn't been fixed, and no one has been out since rhe stairs were slapped on, which aren't even, has some unsupported spots, and screws popping out...This was early June. A staircase and framing for garage walls is all thay has been done in the last 9 months. I have been trying to get ahold of Chip at the main number on their website, left a message on the website to contact me, and his alternate number referenced in his voice-mail. I have also texted since his mailbox is full. He sent a message a couple days ago about a window and dirt... it sounds as if he thinks I'm someone else and is doing smaller jobs? I haven't been able to get ahold of him for 3 weeks, no work has been done in two months and that was a staircase. There are building materials piled up and rotting and warping in the rain and sun. Both his phones are turned off today and one has had a full voice-mail. I will continue calling but may have to pursue legal action. I just want my house doneInitial Complaint

We signed a contract and provided *************************/********************************* (Owner of Legacy Siding and ****** Systems) with $8, ****** to remove and replace our siding in December of 2021. He repeatedly told us the siding was on back order and/or received and in a warehouse. He said siding would be installed on 6/11/22 and it was not. We contacted the supply company that he orders siding from. They confirmed that he orders supplies there and that no order matching our siding type/color was ever ordered. ******** has since then refused to the complete the job unless paid an additional $2,000+. He will not return any emails/calls/txt regarding cancelling the contract so we can receive a portion of our money back. We have contacted the police and a lawyer. We found out recently that ******** has a criminal history of theft and forgery.Initial Complaint

May 4, 2022 I filled out the online form at https://legacysidingandwindows.com/contact-us about having some windows replaced in our house and Chip called me to see if I had time for him to stop over and look at the windows. Chip stopped over and advised us to have the siding replaced first. May 5 Chip stopped over with the estimate. We told him the initial cost was out of our price range, but Chip worked with us and gave a discount. When I asked about a deposit, he said the cost of material, roughly $28,800. We checked ****** Reviews and saw there were a lot of 5 stars for Legacy Siding and Windows. Also checked BBB and saw positive ratings there as well. We decided to accept the offer from Chip.May 6 I called Chip and told him we accepted the bid for our house.May 19 After May 6 call, I applied and was approved for a Home Equity Loan in the amount of $30,000 from Community ******************** I arranged to meet Chip at CCCU after work at 4:00 to pick up the check and give to him personally.June 4 I checked ****** Reviews for Legacy Siding again and saw that 2 one star ratings had been posted in the last week. I also saw BBB listed company as out of business.June 6 I called Chip in the morning and asked how the order was processing and he replied that everything was going as planned and that he was about 2 months out at the latest from our house. He mentioned he had a couple of others who were getting frustrated with him and needed to get theirs done first. He also said to call any time if I had questions. June 23 I googled Legacy Siding and Windows and there was no longer a listing under ****** with reviews. I checked BBB.org and saw that it appeared Legacy Siding and Windows had gone out of business. I called ************ and it had the same voicemail about using a temporary phone as before. I called ************, it went to voice mail and then said that the mailbox was full.Initial Complaint

We signed a contract with this company for a bid for roofing, siding, gutters, and a back door. He asked for some money down, which we gave over by a couple thousand as we paid for half of the job. After much back and forth the roof was finally done in April which they also took the gutters off. He has been telling us for weeks after that that we were on the list for siding and gutter replacement. We said it was unacceptable, that our windows were now leaking due to no gutters. He said he had an extra window from another job and would replace them at no cost to us. Now he isn't returning texts, calls, emails and it has been almost 2 months.Initial Complaint

************************* has not fulfilled our agreement to replace my siding and window.The siding replacement was completed on May 14. Then, a section of the siding fell off on on May 28. (See photo)To this day, we are still waiting on the window replacement that was agreed upon and the siding to be repaired. There is even a landscaping that needs to be fulfilled as his contractor drove in our yard causing damage to the grass and ground. (See images)Ive been trying to get in contact with Chip to understand when this job will be completed but have not successfully got ahold of him. Ive attempted texting and calling both numbers of his.I feel he is ignoring the remaining parts of our contract as Ive paid a majority of the total ****.
