      Company built me two steel buildings. Many of the walk doors on the West building catch and are not able to open properly. Have hired an engineer which says building is not square, thus doors are not functioning properly. Building needs to be squared up so that doors function properly.

      Installing entity just wants to shave doors to work, doesn't seem right based on engineers observations.

      In response to
      the complaint filed against our company by the named customer, I have the
      following information to present:

      This building
      project, along with all punch list items, were completed on 3/13/2024. 

      The complainant
      states the building is out of square (which is not true), he stated he hired an
      engineer, however we have yet to see any documentation from this engineer,
      which we requested.  The doors in
      question needed to be adjusted.  Door
      adjustments have nothing to do with a building being square.  All doors were adjusted as requested and are
      working as they should.  The complainant’s
      partner even sent us an email thanking us for going above and beyond getting
      the doors working properly (see attached, note the complainant was CC’d by his partner as well).  The customer stated we wanted to shave off
      the doors as a fix.  You cannot shave
      steel doors.  We are not working with
      wood, we are a metal building company. 
      This was an adjustment issue, plain and simple and was completed per the
      punch list. 

      As of April 11,
      2024 we have been paid in full for this project, which makes it clear the customer has accepted the completed project, making this complaint irrelevant.

      We have been in
      business for 39 years and have never had issues with a customer as we have had with
      working with the complainant.  We work
      with large companies, small businesses, agricultural entities, state projects,
      county projects and city projects.  Our
      reputation and multiple repeat customers speak for themselves.  If anything, it is our belief we should be
      filing a complaint against the complainant.

      Should this
      matter continue, and our record blemished by this, we will be contacting our
      attorney to file a libel suit as nothing in his complaint is true nor correct.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The issue regarding the doors has been fixed, it did take Iron Specialties three attempts to correct the issue, thus the frustration. These doors that did not function properly is in the same area our hired engineer indicated the building is not square, coincidence? likely not. Our engineer was hired due to Iron Specialties not being able to fix the door issue after the second attempt, that's when it was noted by a State of Nebraska licensed engineer that the building was out of square, south side of the West building which is the area where the doors didn't function properly.

      The engineering report was a third party report, this report was NOT shared with Iron Specialties as it would have been used for litigation purposes in the event the issues continued. This report is stamped and will remain on file through the warranty period.

      With regards to the payment comment made by Iron Specialties, I was the one who offered a $100,000+ payment without them fixing any of the door issues. this was an effort to push closer the finish line all the while the punch list wasn't completed. 

      There is nothing irrelevant about this complaint, the door issue took way too long to fix and when closeout documents were requested to process final payment to Iron Specialties, it took over a month to receive those documents.
