    We hired ****** to remove a porch and build us a new one. We provided labor. Services and materials quoted were not provided. Terms of the contract was violated by the contractor. 1. He did not provide the quote composite decking claiming it was 3xs in price. It was the same as in January of 2022 so we agreed to go with wood. Thinking the composite was $60/board. It was $22/per board. 2. Lumber was re used from previous jobs yet we were charged for new. 3. We paid to have a roof put on that leaks, and the flashing isn't flat. 4. Isn't a licensed roofer in IL, as per law so should of never done the roof. 5. Boards are twisting and cracking already (going on 2 weeks of being built). 6. Some boards are un even when walking. 7. Prices were inflated by up to 400% eg. A 6x6x10 was quoted at $225.00. actual cost $57.**. 8. Owner constantly wanted to play let's make a deal in regard to not speaking about our bad experience. 9. Took excess lumber, that we paid for with him but charged us.

    ***** has been a very difficult customer. i have done everything to make him happy and to no avail. He has went on social media and has talked negatively about me when I went above and beyond for him. His porch is beautiful and Im very proud of it. we have pictures of it displayed on our ******** page because it turned out so nice. I am curranty having to go to court about a no contact order he is filing on me (which is just insane) he has went to my insurance company and tried to take out a claim and was denied. that should tell you all you need to know right there. I'm also having to deal with ******** attorney general about ***** and his wild complaints. I would like to put this all behind me but he will not move on. I feel that im being attacked from every direction. Attached is a letter stating all the info you may need. Thank you

    I am rejecting this response because: I have attached more screenshots. While Mr. ********************** characterizes me as a liar, and "going above and beyond". I disagree as he did warranty his labor. So asking for him to FIX his labor issue isn't going above and beyond.  I also have countless screen shots showing I and my wife were nothing but cordial during this whole time.  However this is not a court of law, or a place to decide who was mean.  I asked the BBB to help me resolve this complaint, but Mr. ********************** wants to play the victim and blame me.  Yes we did not pay him what he requested. Yes we signed a contract that he violated, and is most likely invalid under ******** law.  Yes we did price check his materials list, and Yes on a few items we used best guess.  However the proof is there for all to see that his quotes, and actual cost were off by miles.  Since it doesn't seem that Mr. ********************** is going to amicably enter into good faith discussions and try and resolve this matter with the BBB. I am fine with the BBB closing the case, and I'll handle it in a court a law.  Which we had hoped to avoid.  I thank the BBB for trying to help me resolve this case.  I am saddened, by the response from a former accredited BBB business.
