I purchased 5 windows from *********************************. The day after they were put in it was very cold and wind was leaking around all the windows. They did return week later foamed and caulked the inside of windows. There was over an inch to an inch and a half Gap around 4 of the windows. Over 2 above living room window. They spray foamed plus put a whole tube of caulk in the top of the living room window. Trim was also replaced incorrectly. They ask for payment and I hesitated but I did pay them. That night very windy still having cold air leaking around all the windows. Had a professional window installer come and look at them. He said they are not Plum or Square in the openings they are an inch too small onall sides for the opening.Max is 3/8 inch. The wrap on the outside is installed incorrectly, the weep holes are too high. He said That's another way to tell that the windows are too small. we will have bugs and water will not drain correctly . I contacted *** ********** the salesperson about this and he said he would forward it to the owner and have him call me. It Took over a week for ******* the owner, to get back to me and it was through an email. He said they were installed perfectly and wanted payment in full.I told him I was going to file a Better Business Bureau complaint and will not be paying the balance, as they are incorrect size and installed incorrectly. I gave them $1,000 deposit and I would like to have that returned. Any help in this matter appreciated.Business Response

*** Vaske (Co-Owner) went out to measure windows at the customers house and determined it would be best to install the windows from the outside versus disrupting the trim on the inside. We installed the windows to recommended specs per the manufacturer by s******* them in place and plumbing/squaring them so the reveals were within tolerance. All windows **** up against the interior stops and you cannot see any daylight or gaps around any of the interior stops. We did go back and take the interior trim off and foam and caulk even more extensively per the homeowners request. We closed off all potential air gaps between the wall and the windows and believe the homeowner is feeling cold transfer from outside through building materials products into the house not air infiltration. After talking to the manufacturer, it is of their opinion the windows are installed within their specs. The manufacturer is more concerned about windows being to tight in the opening and said if the windows fit up against the stops and are operating correctly the windows are warranted against defects. We feel we did everything we can to please the customer and installed the products per manufacture specifications and have handled this in a professional manner. We feel the customer is being unfair and does not want to pay for the service. We also replaced windows for her mothers house and they also have not paid for the services. Tri-County is entering its 28th year in business and we pride ourselves with top customer experience. We feel we have done everything necessary to address this customers issues and she only responds with insults and threats.
Thank You

I am rejecting this response because:I am rejecting this response because the windows were not measured correctly to begin with the trim should have been removed from the inside as we have extension jams that are 1 in on each side. *** ****** measured incorrectly he told me when he was here to attempt to fix barely leakage that he added one quarter inch on all sides two windows which is insufficient . There should only be one quarter inch to 3/8 in gap around the windows. I have had a professional window installer come and look at all the windows. He States they are all too small for the openings. They were installed poorly. The wrap on the outside is incorrect and the caulking is not correct either. I will have him pull the trim off and take pictures to send you. Two of the three windows that they installed for my mother were all so too small. The people they have working for them are obviously incompetent. There was one guy here named ***** who knew what he was doing the rest of them did not. It took over an hour and a half to remove one window in the kitchen and they had to call *** to come and get it out. I should have been smart enough to tell them to stop at that point. The window in our living room barely fit the space there's at least 2 in space on the sides and closer to three on the top and bottom. ***** sprayed foam around the windows still did not fill up all the gaps. **** the top space with a full tube of caulk. They may have been a good company in the past but they no longer have people that know what they're doing working for them. Sincerely ******* Craddock
Sincerely,

We have been in business for 28 years and have thousands of happy customers. As a professional window installer I assure you that these windows are installed correctly. Installing windows in an existing home comes with its complications and we adjust sizing and application correctly to the situation we have. As previously noted the manufacture of these windows approves the sizing of the windows for the openings. The customer's opinion from her "Professional Window Installer" says they are too small. The 1/4"-3/8" gapping is a new construction rough opening recommendation so when they drywall and install trim the opening will be covered. This has nothing to do with installing windows in a remodeling project. Gaps are filled with low-expanding foam which is a better insulator than having tight windows which have very little space to insulate. We are defending ourselves from the opinion of the customers "Professional Window Installer". Is this person a licensed contractor in the state of **** and accredited by the BBB or is this someone that sells cars for a living and installs windows occasionally? What we have is a situation where the customer is trying not to pay for the materials and labor for her construction project and tarnish the good name of a local business.Initial Complaint

They forced me to pay a deposit to "order" a patio door that they were going to install for me. The agreement was that they would complete the work in 5-6 months. That time frame was October to November 2022. They have still to even claim the door has been delivered let alone installed. This is a serious breech of contract on their part.Business Response

I'm terribly sorry we have let you down. Our window manufacture is suffering extreme delays and has been running 6 -9 months out on getting us our windows and patio doors. We received your patio door recently and have reached out today to schedule the installation asap. Thank you for your patience and I hope we can regain your confidence in our company and the ******************** we strive for.
