    Hi,I am writing to complain against a contractor named *********************************. We signed a contract for a deck, slide door and a front porch. The front porch was quoted for 1700$, slide door and deck for 1900$. We paid the first 50% on 6th August, he promised to start work on 15th. After several phone calls, he came on 21st and did half of the front porch. On 22nd he argued that he needs the next 25% to complete the porch. He completed the front porch on 22nd, then we paid another 25% and he now does not answer our calls or return to work. Please help us in this regard.******************************* ************

    So my reply is very plain and simple I sent him an estimate which we all know what estimate means things can change I quoted him a price when we showed up to do the work immediately there were changes that needed to be made he chose not to have the stairs installed the way we professionally recommended and chose that instead of having one set of stairways he needed to have two therefore that changed the amount of materials that needed to be purchased considerably and also changed the amount of Labor time he for some reason believes that an estimate is concrete numbers or numbers in stone and that is just not the case I told him that there was going to be a different cost and have repeatedly responded to hundreds of phone calls and text messages I finished the job I build him for the time and materials that we have in the job and that was not suitable for him he then proceeded to try to blast me on ******** I again countered his response with the truth as he did nothing but lie about me on his post at this point I proceeded to let him know that I will no longer be doing any more work for him he could find somebody else to do the second job and I invoiced him for the amount due. I will attach the copy of the invoice thanks and have a great day

    I am rejecting this response because:

    1. He does not hold a license to carry out contract and plumbing job, yet he agreed to do the slide door of our house by cutting the wall and sent us the quotation of $1900 for the same.

    2. According to the agreement we had to make the first 50% before the work starts, which we made of $1800. He started the first work after a week's delay after multiple calls. He made excuses of sick daughter etc, which we later came to know that there is no daughter in his life. We decided not to pay the next 25% until the raw materials for the next project reach our house. He packed his stuff and left and threaten not to complete the first project even. Later sent the slide door **** saying he has ordered the stuff will start the second project on 25th August. We paid the next 25% and then he finished our first project on the 22nd August.

    3. When I posted on ******** about his fraud, many messages came up saying 'Yes, he is a fraud who does not have a contracting license and is doing this fraud to many people in ********* and ************ area'.

    4. The address mentioned on his contract is fake.

    5. On 25th Aug he called up early in the morning to say Menards has a delayed shipment, so may be the door will come by 27th Aug.

    6. After 27th August, he stopped attending our calls.

    7. On 29th August, he messaged us saying I am not continuing the project and will return the money he had taken for the project, we have screenshots of all the messages.

    8. On 30th he sent a message saying the contract was just an estimate and he had to use the entire money for the first project itself and there is nothing to return.

    9.  In Sept 9th, after me filing the case with BBB, putting this fraud on ******** and informing the police, he sent a new contract saying money is all used up.

    10. He kept on saying stories about single parent raising a 5-yr old daughter, how she is suffering with fever and Covid and explaining reasons for the delay in the project. We believed his story as we also have two kids. We ordered pizza for him that evening, he was alone so my husband offered to help me holding the limber etc., my daughter offered him water and took his plate and glass after his meal.

    This complaint is not only about money, it is about faith in humanity and the system. We are foreigners, work here day and night putting our kids in day-care and wanted to get a peaceful home. He promised us so many things, there was no change in plans as he mentioned, everything was as discussed, two set of staircase and railing etc. He misused our trust and now playing the blame-game with our hard-earned money.

    I stand firm with what I said in my first filings I have no reason to continue to defend my legitimate business! Nor continue to defend the lies coming from this customer or the fact that they want to use race as if it has something to do with that them being foreign has nothing to do with what took place here they changed what they wanted from the beginning it cost more money and they don't want to pay plain and simple!
