Same as everyone else- if I could leave zero or negative stars I would. I needed the gas valve on my water heater replaced, I was supplying the part and told them this when I set the appointment. Paid the extra money to have my service time guaranteed. When the technician showed up, he informed me that a ********************************************************* $500!!! My regular serviceman had already told me it was an easy 10 minute job, but as he was on vacation I called Ben *********************** HUGE MISTAKE!!! I wonder how many other homeowners have been conned by this company. No wonder theyre not BBB accredited.

Hi ****, as we expressed on ******, we apologize for your negative experience with us today. After thoroughly investigating your complaint, it looks like the price you were given was for buying the part ourselves through our supplier, and installing it, along with running diagnostics and tests before and after installation to ensure the issue is resolved. This process does take longer than 10 minutes, but we understand that this was a unique situation and your frustration with the pricing is valid. We will meet with our Technician to ensure this doesn't happen again.

If zero stars was available, I would give them that. Service Tech came out to snake my bathroom plumbing. He got his snake stuck in my piping. Ended up breaking a pipe. Was then told I needed all new plumbing and would have to take the bathtub out. The original quote was over $11000 to replace a tub with shower and all new plumbing. Then when project was underway, he found something else that would cost another $3000. I felt like I had no choice and not time to get other estimates since he broke my pipe. Had no problem taking my money but has never given me a copy of what I paid for and never got quote in writing like I asked for 5 times. These guys are crooks!!! I asked for some money be returned to me and they said no due to me signing the ipad (I have no clue what I signed for)

Had them come out to fix my water line and in the process, I had to dig a hole in frozen ground just for them to hook my line back up. Didn't replace anything on there end just rehook up the line charged me over 800$ for a 2 hour job that could of taken 40 minutes. The plumber spent more time at his truck then he did fixing the problem. Once everything was done he left with a check, I proceeded to go look at the repair and to no surprise he broke my wxu meter for the water. And I have to show the physical proof that he broke it. Considering the meter post has survived multiple storm and the derecho. Shotty business practice would rather of paid a smaller company if they could of made it out to my place sooner

RECENTLY—CALLED BEN FRANKLIN—to COME BACK to my home to 1) Look at a Toilet they worked on in 2016 that is leaking since they worked on it. And 2) Look at a toilet that was not flushing right and was not filling right in the tank. This was the FRIDAY before XMAS-2023 B$ a weekend and a holiday---not much time to shop around or call another plumber. I was hoping they would be accountable for the broken toilet they removed and replaced in 2016. NO –they didn’t. As far as the prob. Toilet that was not flushing right and not filling right. The plumber they sent—DIDN’T FIX it. OVERCHARGED ME. Left me with the toilet-making a noise-and MORE PROBS than I called about—I CALLED them BACK—ASKED them to have their MNGR call me—HE DID NOT CALL ME BACK—I KEPT CALLING—WAITED FOR 2 WEEKS—listening to the TOILET. FINALLY the MNGR BILLY—SENT SOMEONE—But the DAMAGE WAS DONE-NEW PLMBR FIXED it--but I GOT MY WATER BILL—which was DBLE what it normally is-And BILLY did not REFUND the OVERCHARGE for the WORK that WAS NOT DONE RIGHT—B/C it was not needed. THEY ENDED UP COSTING ME MONEY! TIME and STRESS! Before XMAS and then the two weeks AFTER XMAS—PLUS they were NOT accountable for the BAD work they did and overcharged me. The Second plumber was good—but in light of everything else—esp the bad manager—I can’t believe they leave a customer that is calling them telling them about the sounds I was experiencing—they SHOULD have known that it was costing me on my water bill! Im not a plumber. I’ve used other plumbing companies and they will advise you on a call-in to take precautions.(like to shut off the water) If you describe the sounds you are hearing. But to know that they did work and I am calling and TELLING THEM that the work they did is BAD—and make me CALL AND CALL AND CALL—to get them BACK! And tell them they overcharged me—and NOW I get a WATER BILL that is WAY TOO HIGH—with an orange warning notice from the water company ---calling my attention to the high bill. WRONG!

We apologize for the stress we caused this customer. ******************** came out and replaced the fill valve, which did in fact need to be replaced, but did not also replace the flush valve as he should have. The customer was only charged the price of the fill valve on this call, and was not overcharged. We then returned to replace the flush valve for free due to the mistake by the first plumber. When the toilet in 2016 was installed, the customer was informed that she had very hard water that would deteriorate the inner parts of the toilet over time. She was offered a water softener unit to prevent this from happening but declined. Because of this, the toilet had no Warranty, and therefore would not be replaced for free 7 years later. This is detailed in the invoice notes of the 2016 call.

We had Benjamin Franklin install all new plumbing in our house and had multiple problems with them. -not showing up without any contact -left a mess of drywall all over my bathroom -turned on water main and left before checking for leaks which there was one and it soaked my entire bathroom -charged us for a shut off valve on our shower and didnt install it. We had them come back and install it but instead of installing the shut off in the preexisting access panel they put it in a new hole at the bottom of the wall so now we cant patch that hole they cut. -Said they completed the job without installing any of the supply lines to the faucets. Had them come back to fix that, and they still forgot to install 3 of them. Had them come back to install the last 3, we waited for them to complete that and instead of checking out with us the plumber snuck out through the back door without saying anything to us. -One of the supply lines that the last guy installed did not get tighten enough and was leaking. It caused a lot of damage. -Didnt show up again - Tried to talk to the manager about water damage and he accused us of loosening the line. He was got angry and defensive on the phone and was giving a ton of attitude. He wanted to come out personally, but after the way he talked to me I no longer felt safe having him or any of the other plumber come back. -I have submitted two complaints to their website and have gotten no response.

Had a leaking shower. They came in to fix it. Didn’t turn water off all the way so it made water pour into my basement. They tore up the shower trim. They didn’t even check their work and didn’t put shower head on correctly so now it’s spraying water everywhere.

We apologize for the mistake our Tech made by not installing the shower head correctly. A different Tech along with our Master Plumber returned to the home the same day this review was submitted and fixed the problem, at no extra cost.
